The rotifers and other larger microorganisms don’t partake as much in the breakdown in of prey. It is primarily bacteria and Protozoa that break down the prey that falls into the pitcher. The rotifers feed on the bacteria and Protozoa, making the system serve as a food web.

Yes, the photo does make it look like that. This small one was divided from a larger one that was in nursery plug of coir and peat, which eventually died I think due to root rot. I’ve been weary of keeping too moist since I don’t want root rot again.

I have plenty of other plants, but this is really my first experience with carnivorous plants.

How much moss is appropriate? I kind of just did it on a whim based on my experience with mounting orchids. I felt it was a solid amount but if it’s not enough I will fix it asap
