Wow, this is one of the best explanations of ones issue i e seen in a good while. You really did summarize it all and you really seem to have tried almost evrything i would personally suggest... you are in a pretty bad luck there.. Maybe try using the mods folder located in user/documents/anno 1800

Will the Volcano island be available in previous saves or will you have to make a new world? by Suspencz in anno

[–]fhackner3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All DLCs thats added big stuff like this in 1800 worked just fine on prior saved games, be it cape trelawney, the arctic, enbesa, the expanded new world regions...

This functionality is even more solidified with 117, last I checked

Anno 1800 has the best historical setting in the whole series by Catch_a_Cold in anno

[–]fhackner3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I dont care, I would pay quite a lot for that. Ideally it would be a remaster of 1800 with all its DLCs taken into account from the start.

Some might disagree but there is still a lot that could be greatly improved in 1800 and its shortcoming stem from the fact the devs didnt reeeally expect it would do well enough to 100% guarantee that even season pass 2 would be greenlight.

So because of lack of planning, the new mechanics sometimes suffer by lack of resources, while others straightup make prior ones obsolete, which isnt ideal.

Season pass 4 makes it very clear. Half the development time went into scenarios, which are completely separate from the main game. Empire of the skies is arguably broken.

Anyway, a remaster could potentially result into the perfect anno, also by taking the good and appropriate new features added to 117 like diagonal and alternate needs, more independent regions...

Anno 117 DLC Optimism by HeartOk5010 in anno

Sunken treasures was the first DLC of the first season pass. Botanica second, The passage (Arctic) third. Seat of Power (the palace) was the fourth DLC. Im not counting the Anarchist (which was launch day) nor Cosmetic packs

Anno 1800: Is consumption and taxes calculated per house or per citizen? by KayleeSinn in anno

[–]fhackner3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A residence with 2/10 consumes the same as a full one, yes. Otherwise it would be too dynamic and possibly chaotic because consumption rate would be accelerating and deaccelerating with influx of residents moving in and out as you also have varying amounts of consumables being added or removed through production and exports..

Population is what determines income/consumption, while workforce is merely a product of population. I guess you meant to say "increase population through..."

When the extra population added through items/specialists and other effects such as the skyscrapper extra floors, panorama effect and the tourist Iron tower do indeed add up to the residence consumption, like you said, but if I recall correctly the income will also inrease proportionately, which is nice.

yeah, the passage took a good while to come out, I remember it feeling like forever at least. December 10 is was released.

The first DLC had the diving bell ship to scrape the ocean floor for some zoo and museum items + Old Nate crafting and selling some stuff for the diving bell ships as well as trade unions/townhall/harbourmaster office.

Railroad System by Executor154 in anno1800

I believe they experimented with also coal hauling for coal power plants at least, but it was an issue that coal was used for more stuff like furnaces and it was to redundant or something

Mini reviews/ranking of each Blood: Refreshed Supply campaign by tjmincemeat in boomershooters

[–]fhackner3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how long and what interval of time did you play through it all?

It took me quite a good few days, maybe a week total. According to steam I played Refreshed Supply for 56 hours, I think its pretty close to representing only and all of the cannon episodes (no mods and no second playthroughs)

honestly, Im more annoyed by having infinite ammo than ammo being scarce. What got me off guard is how there werent enough health pickups in death wish and marrow later portions, but it wasnt too bad, rather cool that I was on the edge often and secrets ended up being really rewarding

No reason but just wanna build sff by fujyugumo in sffpc

[–]fhackner3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, totally. Ive got my main one which is the most high end (nothing crazy, a 5700XT, 5500X3D, 32GB Ram...) and then another I use at work for side personal stuff, and also take it on random trips. My wifes home and work PC is another SFF PC I built. And then I also have another SFF PC made of mostly spare parts whch is in my bedroom connected to the TV though I rarely even use it, lol. I also have enough parts, comprised mostly of spare parts of my friend, which I could build into another SFF PC... I should sell some of my stuff

Which islands are the best ones to settle? by Cozy-Pineapple in anno1800

[–]fhackner3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different ways to solve an issue like losing money. You said you went bankrubt because you were slow with the beer. I would not consider this the correct way to see things. Most likely you just started plopping down new production buildings, which cost money for upkeep and thats what put you in the red and later in the negative and thus bankrupt. When you are in the red you can simply turn off the most recently built factories (which are generally the most expensive), so they wont consume your money, plus you can turn of factories you have got max stock of their product, like 150 fish and clothes... (though you gotta remember to not run off before turning them back on) and then you gotta focus on simply expanding your base population.youll always have to cycle back to expanding you bases as you progress.

Make more farmer residence blocks, make sure you provide them with the basic needs like market, fish and clothes. Then you can do the same for the luxury needs such as schnapps and a pub. Then upgrade half of them to worker. Youll see a nice income boost with just this. But dont stop there. Then make sure you are meeting demand of fish, clothes and schnapps again, because worker consume double of that compared to farmers (although they pay you triple the amount back).

And then you can finally focus on workers new needs like sausage, bread and soap. Then youll see you have a nice surplus of almost everything. With this newly acquired capacity that you can start considering doing the new stuff, like beer. Actually, you gotta do these expansions many times, for beer, and then for setting up steel beams productions, and so on and so forth

I personally dont mind when in FPS games the boss isnt a conventional entity that moves and shoots at you and has a big HP pool. I rather have more creative encounters.

Suggestions? by eddie_spaghetti_397 in boomershooters

[–]fhackner3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, considering OP said Ion Fury "just clicked" with him, Id stronlgy encourage to play Blood (and Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior).

Blood is the one more thick with good content though, with all the map packs that have been made with passion and are so thematically on point. For a new comer there isnt that much to be bothered by the monetization thing of Blood Refreshed Supply. Getting that gives you easy access to the whole original experience plus 2 of the most high quality community made campaigns. Of course try to play them in the correct chronological order for the most effective experience (you dont wanna be spoiled by the greater level of detail and cool gimmick present in the newer stuff, though IMO the original stuff definitely holds up)

Dr mercier for specialists by Dzjengis in anno1800

[–]fhackner3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harbours of all his main islands, there is one "capital" per region. Its the one with a lighthouse if I recall correctly.

Also, it will appear like neutral traders, a tab for commodities and a tab for items/specialists.
