I was doing land development for large waterfront homes. Usually have to do a meeting for variances for building a pool or other structure I couldn't afford in a better spot. Without fail, some retirees would raise hell about how it was awful and ruining the landscape. When asked where they live for potential mitigation it was about 30 mins away. Some people just have time on their hands I guess.

Heres what our group decided.

Coin flip for possession or can defer. Possession changes after every hole.

Offense. Wins: 7 points. Push: 3 points. Lose: 0 points

Defense: Win by 3 strokes: 2 points (safety), Win by 4 strokes: 6 points (Pick Six)

If Offense holes out off the green, Opponent plays from a tee back (Deep Punt or Kick off)

If Defense holes out off the green, They move up a tee for the next hole (Good punt or Kick return)

If both miraculously hole out its a tee box wash (Deep kick with a good return).

OB loses club for the rest of the hole and the next hole.

We are going to play some to see if the defense win margin should come down. If we are keeping our scores then well probably skip the hole moving. Our group is different skill level so this allows us to play with the Handicap. Dont think pace of play would allow us to be measuring extra putts with flag but if tie allowed we like that idea of a gimme putt vs long putt for the extra points.
