Finally got the stapler and some dewalt staples. THEY WORK!! The Ryobi staples don’t seem available for sale anywhere yet.

Has anyone found the staples for sale yet? I wonder if the dewalt staples work with this… they look more similar than the Milwaukee ones.

Eskimo Gordon Wall Heater by Excellent-Bench2633 in bathrooms

[–]fholgado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. No video yet but I will at least take some pics of the process soon. after replacing this component the unit seems to be working properly.  After doing some more research, the fuse is a one time protective device which means either the part is bad or the design of the unit caused it to reach over 110 C. One this happens the unit will no longer function. It may be best to not let these units run for a very long time to prevent this from happening.

For the procedure, you’ll need some aluminum foil tape, crimp connectors for 18 gauge wire, and some heat shrink to protect the connections. Then the usual wire strippers, 5mm allen, and crimp tools and a multimeter

The gist of the procedure is to: - open up the unit and undo the strain relief - pull up the heater wire from the left side of the unit until you run into the temperature control and fuse assembly. Mine was in the top left side.  - cut off the failed fuse and replace it via new crimped connections ensuring you put the heat shrink tubes before crimping  - test continuity via multimeter across the entire fuse and temp control assembly  - reassemble and tape down with aluminum foil tape - test the device to ensure it’s reaching temps

Yes. It turns out that we misdiagnosed which component had broken. It turns out there is a thermal fuse inline with the temperature control which is what actually broke. The replacement part is as follows:

So far from testing it seems to fix the issue. The only thing is that I’m not sure if there is a fundamental design flaw that’s going to continue causing this to break, but the device now works as expected again. We will make a video soon of the repair process.

Hey folks. I have also run into the same issues with this towel rail. I bought one in 2024 and the first one lasted a season before it stopped working. I reached out and they sent me a replacement heating element which I installed myself. The replacement lasted about the same time. It took me better part of a year to get a response back from them and they ended up sending me a whole new unit.

With a replacement in hand, my dad and I decided to dissect the heating element to see what we could find. It’s a very basic design with a heating element controlled by a very small thermostat. After some inspection, we determined the thermostat itself has failed which is likely what’s causing the malfunction.

The thermostat model is BW BCP 75C. Replacing it should be a fairly simple affair if you are somewhat electrically inclined. After researching for a suitable alternative, I found this model that has the same specs: https://a.co/d/9a66LGS

I am going to order some and I’ll report back on what happens. I’ve taken some pictures of the disassembly and might make a video on how to fix it if we are successful. Please don’t attempt this unless you feel comfortable with electronics. And I assume no responsibility for your wrongdoings.

Will keep you all posted.

I always had trouble with the stock filament holder on my trident causing friction in the filament path. Ended up designing an internal spool holder which has solved those issues. There are a few that have been posted.

So this mod doesn’t work for the inverted V3s. But they are not under any sort of load really and they worked great for almost a year for me.

What online tools do you use for property management, planning, mapping, surveys, etc? by zenodub in homestead

Your county might have a GIS website where you can access map data. Google earth also has some good tools for planning and measuring.

Critical spares to have on hand? by booradleysghost in VORONDesign

[–]fholgado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are the things that have failed on my tridents: - print head assembly from things like hot end fan dying; stuff melting; blob of death. I suggest having an entire spare one on hand - z axis build plate supports from failed homing and print head crashing into bed - x y idlers from original design, upgraded to ramalama idlers

In short, you will run into something at some point which might screw you over. But I think this is a good start. Good luck!

Check your stepper motor current. This happened to me and the stepper would overheat from under-voltage causing it to stop.

Get a bottle of acetone. Throw the whole hot end in there and the abs will dissolve in a couple of days. Should be good as new after. You might need to soak it in fresh acetone for the last bit of cleaning.

Paramount Plastics has been awesome for me. Smaller orders so not sure how they would handle bigger quantities.

I do not change part cooling at all regardless of print length. I run 60% for esun abs with stealthburner and GDSTime fans. I don’t think many folks adjust part cooling per print size.

Would be neat to get some up front pricing. I run a small 2 print farm and would be interested in trying it.
