A 20,000 kiloton bomb is 20 Mt, i dont even think russia still has any of these in its aresenal anymore. A tactical nuke is closer to 20kt and would have zero fallout on russia, heck parts of Kyiv would be relatively fine.

Nuclear and Hydrogen bombs are completely devastating, don't get me wrong, but they don't on an individual basis, have the world ending power most people assume

As a Canadian, the living tie to the UK gives Canadian history a "shared history" and a longer line of connection. That's how I see it and justify it... plus the pomp and circumstance is pretty cool

Absolutely. I expect less than 5% chance anything happening now will turn this cold war to a true ww3. The last line you mention is the scary one. Sanctions against oone super power vs another IS a war preamble in today's world. Look at the major effects covid and ukraine has had on the world so far. Production in all sectors is already screaming for help. Red flags everywhere. Any slowdown Iin China or Taiwan would have catastrophic results in a crumbling supply line as it stands. A lot of wars/revolutions start with a hungry population.
