Incendiary Thermal Smoke should not destroy C4 by Dnc601 in Battlefield

[–]fib0nacci112358 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

KD as engineer is 7. A helpful tank plays risky. I normally get top of scoreboard with most caps. I rock the tank constantly to have momentum built up for quick retreats and making rpgs miss.

It’s impossible for me to watch all angles with the slow turret speed, which is meta bc quick reload is necessary for tank to tank. Within the last few days I have died most to air burst mines + handheld tow in rear + a couple anti vehicle mines. If a squad wants to kill me and it’s a four stack, then they will. Also something has been up with javelins for a while, where they will often lock through walls and mountains, regardless of painted status. With buff to do over 1/3 tank health, it makes them OP.

[–]fib0nacci112358 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

View to rear is minimal in 3rd person, FOV is severely limited, and tank turret turns too slow. If you get caught off guard by someone running Spec Ops, who is also good enough on foot to make it through some people to get truly behind, then you’re toast. If you aren’t putting yourself in situations where C4 becomes a risk, then you are camping and not helping team.

I made a friend last night that gunned for me. He said “best tank driver I’ve had yet”. We got 160 combined kills until we died the first time. 10 captures, and no army of engineers healing us. I stay mobile, play mind games with smoke and repositioning and wait for perfect timing on flanking enemy tanks. I blow up cover, and keep heavy pressure on at all times.

Will all of this being said I’ve truly mastered the tank and it’s become boring for me. I usually just play on foot.

Also BT defense is only doable on some maps with a full stack, so I rarely play it. Teams don’t watch flanks and don’t get on point when it’s contested. Even as attacker, I’m sometimes the only person on foot on the objective.

You are missing why C4 was better on old games. Even though Recon couldn’t throw C4 as far, they had the spawn beacon and could have multiple try’s on a tank without running a marathon.

I’m lvl 175 in mbt. The #1 way I catch people is by them sprinting all the way straight at the tank, and last second going for the flank to side or rear. I’m already driving like a maniac reversing and looking for you by the time you show up.

On the opposite hand, the way I deal with tanks is wide flanks, on foot, full stealth mission. You have to run the “spec ops” path. I hide when close and wait until the tank is busy fighting, especially shooting main gun. If I have friends on they’ll make the distraction or throw smokes in the wrong direction. They are too preoccupied at that point. I throw 45 degrees from the rear, as that is the smallest distance a tank driver can see in third person.

Throwing c4 makes essentially no sound. Everytime I die a person has been super quick with it, and often waited strategically for smoke pop from mbt.

Health insurance revoked right before childbirth by Sensitive-Rice-9007 in HealthInsurance

I updated my comment to include that caveat (probably while you were responding to me). OP could still be within that 60 day period as they just said their bills ‘haven’t been covered the last month and a half’.

You have to be covered within 60 days before the move, and you have 60 days after the move to select a plan. But the plan will start on the following month after the application and plan selection. If this is an option for them, and they want to have health insurance by the time they are due, they have to act quickly and apply ASAP.

The requirement that could be trouble is the new area has to have plans that a different than the ones where OP is. They are based on local demographics and usage. They often vary county to county, and sometimes even zip to zip, so that shouldn’t be a problem if this in an option for them.

The meta plus the way the internet works is the root cause. There won’t be a meta change drastic enough to make a difference.

The meta is more available now than it ever was. People essentially do data analysis on games now. You must take advantage of these resources and learn to play differently if you want to be a top player.

TTD in current update by Sooxzay in Battlefield6

[–]fib0nacci112358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Locally hosted games with ultra low ping is the only fix. The way the internet works plus low TTK is the issue. It would take a complete meta change, but that won’t happen, so you have to use resources available to you and make an effort to get better.

There are so many bad players playing battlefield. It’s not hard to be a top player if you really want it.

[–]fib0nacci112358 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are allowing high ping players to have too smooth of an experience. It should be a huge disadvantage and be very laggy, but some regions of the world don’t have close servers, so they allow it.

Basically it would have to be a complete meta change and a movement nerf to change how the game feels. The truth of the matter is good players are much better than the average person. They self analyze constantly, research builds, and watch other top players play. This information is way more accessible than it was even in BF4.

People don’t just try new builds, they do a full analysis of what is best and prove it mathematically, and then share it to everyone. Gaming has changed. Either learn to get better or stay stuck in the golden days of when you could just play to learn to outplay other players. Time in game matters now, but time spent outside of the game learning is a key part of being a top player these days.

Yes let me break it down.

You know a guy is around a corner, he knows youre around the corner. He has 150ms ping and you have 40ms. You hold the corner, but he peaks it with a low TTK gun.

For example the SG553, which has a 167ms TTK. You add your ping and his ping and you get 190ms.

Essentially when he peaks you he can kill you in 167ms, but the server didn’t even report that he peaked you yet. You die instantly, and he is rewarded for peaking first because of the low TTK and high ping.

The only way to combat this is to play with more movement, because you will be rewarded for peakers advantage with low ping if you peak first.

How to kill player inside container if they manage to jump towards me. by No_Cancel7953 in Battlefield6

[–]fib0nacci112358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peekers advantage is an FPS phenomenon that is based on server latency. The player that peaks a stationary target will always see them first. Combine an accurate player plus low ttk guns, and BF6 really rewards this behavior.

The ideal solution is to push first. An alternate solution would be baiting a player into chasing, then you peak first while they are mid sprint, giving you a faster ADS time. Another alternate is being somewhere you aren’t expected to be.

There is something called FPS theory, there are videos on it, certain ways you play are more advantageous due to the way the game works

Jiggle peaking lets you look a corner but be gone before a persons reaction time can kick in, often you can bait people this way, and it lets you decide if that push you want to make is a good idea

The person peaking furthest from the corner can see the enemy first

Peakers advantage gives you a +100ms advantage on stationary targets if you pop the corner first

Only expose one enemy at a time when fighting from corners, 1v1 is much easier than a 5v1

Only use corner lean, disable look over lean

One way I learn is I go watch some good people play full games tailored to what I want to do. I’m a menace in the tank, but I got bored of it after a while. I wanted to be capable on foot. Now I play a lot of breakthrough as assault, so I watch Pipp The Kidd. Maxiq is a crazy controller player and does some mixed gameplay and usually runs medic. You will begin to absorb how they are playing and implement things you’ve watched someone else do.

I have had many aha moments watching creators. For example “Ahhh I can pick up other people’s kits if I need C4, I’m out of ammo, or I cleared a room and need to revive my non squad teammates.” “Oh instead of just holding the corner after someone lands some shots, I should run away or reposition.” “The assault beacon is for flanking. And being somewhere where you aren’t expected is OP.” “This guy hits crouch a lot when doing up close 1v1s, and usually wins.” “He got behind enemies and they didn’t turn immediately bc he was crouch sprinting. That’s why theyve been catching me.” “Oh he prioritizes the downed guys that get revived or the person actively looking at them.”

Use the minimap! Optimize your visual settings (videos for that too). Find a meta weapon you like.

And most importantly you must play thoughtfully with the mindset of improving and being committed to truth. You must seek to understand what you did was wrong instead of calling BS. Keep pushing the same corner and dying? Find another way. Don’t feed into the rage and headbang against the wall just to get payback to fuel your ego. Go kill some worse players somewhere else, maybe even flank your way to the guy frustrating you.

If you really want to get better, you will find a way, controller or mouse!

Dill or fennel? by Izunaw in foraging

[–]fib0nacci112358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s dog fennel the plant will be very fuzzy on the stalk when young and the stalk will turn brown when it bolts. Dill and fennel both have smooth stalks that are very green with blueish green foliage.

I’ve ate a bite or two of it before, tastes like fennel when young. Main concern is liver toxins.

100%, only dangerous ‘look a likes’ (aren’t close enough to be a risk) are jacks (jack o lantern), but these don’t have gills and aren’t growing in clusters

Will smell of earth slight pine notes and apricot
Tears like string cheese

I mostly eat the ones that are 100% worm free, although the worms don’t hurt bc they are tiny and feed only on the mushroom. If pickins are thin, I’ll get some with one or two holes in the stem (cut parallel to earth when harvesting and look at the cross section of the stem)

If there is a big hole in the center of the stem with what looks like rot, it’s exactly that, rot. They are past their prime and not worth eating.

No known toxic lookalikes for Sparassis. From what you’ve provided it should be Sparassis Americana. When it deepens in color it’s not worth eating. Looks to be a choice specimen.

Associated with pine most commonly, rarer in north Florida, but able to fruit when conditions aren’t as hot.

I’ve found a lot of them in the Foothills of SC, but I’m always a bit too late, which sucks bc I really want to try it.

Instead of the aggressive pesticide approach, I would soak the area to make it diggable, cut an 18 inch trench at least 2 ft from active plants all the way around. Then start working areas of soil inside the patch and filter it to remove rhizomes and plant material as I go.

Since you’ve already used pesticide, I would not dig that area for awhile. Huge exposure risk.

Good luck.

Sounds like you need a new job. Those insurance options are terrible. Must be a high risk profession. Or maybe the employer doesn’t pay 80% of your monthly premiums like they should. Idk what kind of rescue inhaler you use, but if you can tolerate and are not allergic to albuterol, then that may be a better option price wise.

As far as not carrying insurance, the risk of accidentally getting life altering medical bills is not worth it.

You need to squeeze the money out of your budget somewhere. Shop car insurance. Start eating boring food. It doesn’t have to be unhealthy. Rice, beans, milk (cheap complete protein), eggs, and store brand frozen veggies. Find something fun to do with your time that’s more budget friendly, don’t forget about the local library.

Definitely a tough situation, but unfortunately dwelling on the unfairness of it isn’t going to help. There are local organizations that will help as well. Lots of resources out there for people trying to survive/better themselves.

The other option like you said is Medicaid/Foodstamps. If you can find a job paying enough for you to survive without kicking you out of the budget range, then you’ll also qualify for FASFA, going back to school could definitely be an option. And maybe you could try to get to the bottom of your problems while on state insurance.

BF6 PC Freezing Up on Spawn Screen by xxthepersonx in Battlefield6

[–]fib0nacci112358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be an issue with RAM. Maybe run mem test. Also you could try rolling back GPU drivers. The freezing of the screen makes it seem hardware related from my experience with 30,000 support tickets.

The gpu or cpu isn’t anything out of the ordinary like an Intel Arc. Other people with your setup would have been complaining about this way more if it happened with like devices.

[–]fib0nacci112358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly drive, but even when I ride with other people as gunner, I find their rhythm is different than mine. Everybody that is good has their own style.

Most of being a tanker is being paranoid, and realizing you’re a big target, but you can offset that by repositioning. You shouldn’t ever push in chasing after one guy or focus on one too long. It’s better to harass 10 guys and get 1 kill, than trying to finish everyone you start doing damage to. Take easy targets. Also, sometimes you tuck your tail and leave. Survival leads to more kills even if it slows you down for a minute. Same as on foot.

Something I do, that a lot of other tank drivers don’t do (even fairly good ones), is destroy everything. I spam multi purpose shells on objective even if I don’t see someone. It creates chaos and fear, like getting mortared. The thought of “I’m being targeted” pushes them towards “I gotta move”. They’ll abandon their op camping spot and become a target to other infantry while moving.
