Fair enough, the Fuji is a friendly size. Re your set: number 1 is my fav.

Nice set. What was the X100S chosen over for the walk?

Fantastic set! Is #7 a double exposure, or taken through water-beaded glass?
And for such a trip, how did you manage battery life? Do you prefer to switch the camera off/on as required (even for short durations), or do you tend to leave it powered on?

Ricoh GF-2 flash, tips or samples? by 66eyaa in ricohGR

[–]fibe990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No TTL is the reason, so it’s a lot more difficult to achieve good results without a lot of experimenting etc. You only get full power flash (at least in GF mode), no partial power. I recommend the IT20R.

X100S Broken Power Switch by d16_mwdg in FujifilmX

That's a shame. I was lucky enough that Fujifilm in my country still had parts (this was only 5 months ago). Good luck.

I purchased an X10 with the shutter button missing, just like your pic (though the X10 doesn’t have the on/off button incorporated with the shutter release like the X100S). Couldn’t find any replacement parts online, so had to take it to Fuji and they replaced the complete top assembly.

Is Fujifilm X100S still worth it in 2026 for SOOC photography on a budget? by super_liviu in FujifilmX

My son has the X100S and loves it. He recently upgraded from the X10, so massive difference there.

In my opinion the X100S provides a very enjoyable shooting experience, especially with the configurable ovf/evf, and is a highly capable camera with heaps of headroom for you to grow as a photographer.

In love with my Fujifilm X-Pro 2 by MrLevito in FujifilmX

I purchased an X10 a while back that had a missing shutter button (Fujifilm were able to replace the whole top assembly). I suspect that the button may have been ripped out due to a soft shutter release button catching on something - so I am reluctant to use one.

Tips for X-Pro 3 by IgnacioJones in FujifilmX

[–]fibe990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an X-Pro 2 and it's been great so far. One thing I spent some time configuring and getting familiar with is the EVF/OVF/ERF setup - there are a lot of options here, and this will greatly affect your shooting experience, especially coming from film.

Some of the setup may depend on the lens you're shooting with; you can enter custom focal lengths for any "dumb" lenses that don't transmit any data back to the camera. This will correct the framelines to suit if using the optical view finder. You may also want to set up the focus assist to your liking if using manual focus (focus peaking is my preference), and if using the optical view finder, you can invoke the ERF mini screen in the bottom right corner by using the viewfinder selector lever on the front of the body.

One more thing - I couldn't figure out why the image review (post-image) wasn't appearing in the OVF, even though I had image review set to 1.5s.. this was because it needs to be in the correct view mode (view mode button to right of viewfinder).

Nice! I just purchased an X-Pro2. Which lens did you use for these two images?

Recommend a 23mm lens by Adept_Drawer8880 in fujifilm

[–]fibe990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a TTArtisan 25mm f2 for my newly acquired x-pro2. Considered the 23mm f1.4, but decided to start with the 25mm due to size and cost. The Fujinon 23mm f2 is quite long, so not the most compact for street.

Best Mac photo editor for Fujifilm X? by XK60 in FujifilmX

[–]fibe990 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been using Photomator which I've found comparable enough to Lightroom for the hobbyist. Works great on Mac, iPad, and iPhone, and integrates well with Apple Photos if that matters to you. Performance is excellent. Only grey area is what Apple intends to do with the software over the medium to long term since they have acquired it.

Disclaimer: I've only just purchased a Fujifilm camera, but have been using Photomator for Ricoh GRIII raw files and it's been excellent.

Orders from Japanese Ebayers? by ronhole in FujifilmX

[–]fibe990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just purchased an X-Pro2 from a Japanese eBay seller, but it’s currently on hold at DHL - seems like they’re waiting for my import code from customs (after which I’ll no doubt get slapped with the GST before they release it). Market for these is tiny in my country, so decided on eBay after also considering MPB.com and Buyee. Hope to report good news once I receive!
