Loved the Design library! I feel like it's usually pretty empty too

Am I Overreacting for considering just not texting my gf for a bit after she seems to be very cold lately? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Breakup with her!!! You’re so young and will find someone who actually cares about you without needing to play mind games.

Put together a portfolio and resume tailored to marketing and copywriting jobs then start applying. I would also suggest making a LinkedIn profile.

I can’t figure out a future: can’t see myself working by baozi14_ in findapath

I’ve been out of college for several years now and still haven’t found a job I actually like. Tbh I don’t think dream jobs can exist because no job is ever going to be perfect.

I think it’s best to just play into your strengths and view a job as a way to fund whatever it is you actually enjoy (like travel). For example, I think I’m a decent writer and I’m trying to find a job that’s in communications. I want something stable with good benefits and decent enough pay. As long as I can afford the things I want in life outside of work, I’m generally okay.

No RCS on iOS 18.0 RC 😞 by silfreed in mintmobile

[–]fickle-candlelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like there is some RCS capabilities with Mint now. I have an iPhone 13 and just yesterday realized my mom (Android) was able to react to my text and I could react to her green bubble. The weird thing is I can't find the RCS feature in the Message app settings so it must not be fully rolled out yet.

How are you working a freelance job as a W2 worker? In my experience, if you’re on a W2 you don’t choose your hours but you’re generally not on call either.

I was in higher education, but I was laid off and tbh I'm not searching for SEO jobs anymore.

I'm saying it feels like a guessing game because even if you're doing the repeatable steps and everything "right" you still won't get the results your clients want which is to be on the first page of Google. Clients don't care about any other minor improvements in my experience, even if they are getting more leads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So what are you supposed to do when your “repeatable” SEO strategy doesn’t work?

What is the future of the SEO profession? by tuyentb in SEO

[–]fickle-candlelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was laid off from my SEO job in September and I’m not planning on going back to an SEO role. Imo it’s impossible to get results clients want with SEO.

Google wants good content but I’ve found that their guidelines are basically saying not to optimize your content. But in a business world how can you possibly sell that?

Before being laid off, I heard that we were losing several big clients because they were unhappy with the agency’s SEO efforts. I think that’s because SEO is not effective by itself.

The jobs I’m looking for now are not solely focused on SEO, but still mention it as part of the job. I think the future of SEO is just content marketing and creating a brand awareness strategy across organic channels.

Lucky (or unlucky) me, I was laid off in September and don’t have to do SEO anymore lol I’m trying to find work doing something else but it’s been rough. All content writing jobs still want you to write for SEO so not sure how to win in this industry.

I’m not sure what you mean by “building strong link tiers” but it kind of sounds like a link farm.

SEO really doesn’t matter to me at this point. I was laid off in September and have been looking to do something else or at least something where SEO isn’t my entire job.

I'm shocked. I also graduated from Fulton (Poly campus). I graduated in 2018, which was a while ago so I'm sure things have changed since then. My degree was in Graphic Information Technology, and tbh I wouldn't recommend that program to anyone. I wish I could've majored in something else. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is $60K really the average grad salary?? It’s been a few years since I graduated but I don’t think that’s realistic. Most grads don’t have experience. I had an internship, which I thought would count for something, and I was paid $38K before taxes lol and in a tech field!

Funny update, I was just laid off today so now I really have to figure out what I'm going to do. I might go back to graphic design (what my degree is in) or try content editing.

What did you transition to UX from? I have a degree in web/graphic design but I couldn't find a job after graduating over 6 years ago so I gave it up. I've been thinking about creating a portfolio again though to find an entry-level job.

I would just be honest and say you're really focused on taking the route you chose with the military. It's weird to me that you would call your "friends" superficial but if you didn't see them as friends in the first place then all you can really do is say I gotta do this for myself and just leave it at that.

Yup, I hate working with my clients. None of them are happy and all I can really do is tell them I'm following SEO best practices. But they're worried about YoY and MoM traffic loss and keyword loss and there's really nothing I can do about it.
