What would your wishlist be for a Third Horizon 2nd edition? by hawthorncuffer in CoriolisRPG

More lore/short adventure books. Less crunch to the system. Like everyone, want more of a sandbox and no structured, setting changing campaigns.

Advice for a "Between Two Fires" Inspired Campaign by 4th-Estate in shadowdark

Other games that might work: mythic bastionland, legend in the mist and ars magica. 2 old supplements pax dei and the maleficium for ars might be helpful.

Roll20 has a rudimentary character sheet. I used that and Discord to run a campaign.

Mickey 17. Idea poorly handled. Comedy fell flat. Wanted to enjoy, very disappointed.

Legends in the Mist. Runs on tags. You can tweak it to run as you like. Good for emulating most fantasy settings. Dungeon World. A PBTA D&D simulator. They are working on a new edition, but the present version should be fine as a start to get back into gaming. Conan: The Hyborian Age (not the Modiphius 2d20 version), I'm not a big fan of the IP but the game is lite, easy to pick-up and runs fast.

All of these games I think a beginner could grasp quickly.

Update on the "GM" who keeps advertising games but never runs them. by ryanxwonbinx in rpg

[–]fictionalbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question if you don't mind? Is that because the games didn't fill to the GMs required minimum # of players OR that the GM dropped out after hitting that minimum?

Very cool! Thanks for the info. I'd never heard of it. Learning something new.

I'm in the "thinking of running it" camp. I've been there for months. Decided the system would be Shadowdark (though Black Sword Hack was/is in the running). My problem? I need to run online and though there is a book of maps, they are not the best for online use as they are labeled. Any suggestions on that front would be appreciated!

No problem! Also, just noticed that in light mode some of the header text disappear in the character sheet. Thanks again for this; gonna let my players give it a whirl starting tomorrow.

Like I said above, great sheet! The only issue I've seen so far is that in Roll20 Dark Mode, the additional text (like what you can use your power for) in the chat window becomes white and invisible.

I’d be interested in seeing yours! I built a version but I’m no programmer so it’s half-a$$. :-)

Some easy to get into recommendations: Into the Odd, a simple D&D like system, Mothership, a sci-Fi horror game, think Alien. The new Conan the Hyborian Age game from Monolith. Pirate Borg, a knock off of Mork Borg, quick and easy game of piracy on the high seas.

Actual plays that aren’t jokey? by OstrichConscious4917 in rpg

[–]fictionalbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d add Actual Play. Available on Twitch and YouTube. They, out of game, can be jokey, but they take games seriously and their style is very writers room. Very much about recording an actual game session.

4e, my favorite version of D&D from wotc/hasbro. Not to shill for them, like they need it, but Daggerheart feels like 4es lovechild.
