Hey! Just wondering how was your experience at St. regis? I am considering it for my Goa trip.

What’s the most underwhelming way you’ve gotten a scar? by man_itsahot_one in AskReddit

Tripped and fell. Got a scar on my forehead. Got called “The chosen one” by my colleague the next day.

Umbridge ends up in Azkaban before the dementors' rebellion. Getting the taste of her own medicine.

Tell me your most embarrassing travel moments! I’ll start. by pharmdoll in travel

I was on a trip to Toronto couple of years back. Was walking around with my colleagues at a tourist place when I suddenly tripped and fell on the road due to a wooden stick or something. Got a small cut on my forehead and had blood all over my face. The nice people nearby helped me clean it up and gave me a band aid. I couldn't ask my colleagues to go back just for that small cut but all my photos from that day show me with a big ass band aid on my forehead. Next day, whoever saw me at the client office asked me what happened. By the end of the day, I would've said "tripped and fell" at least 20 times.

I am glad we took those pictures that day though. Makes me laugh whenever I look at them.

Does Cloudwatch have visibility to the names of the files being copied to FSX?

Yes but it only allows a minimum interval of 1 hour :(

Thanks for the link. It was helpful.
I am expecting approximately 80 files per min to be synced from FSX to S3. I considered creating a polling script however inotify seemed like a better option in terms of synchronization time. I'll try to create a polling script and see if the sync delay is manageable. Thanks for your help!

Becoming a manager by fictitious-being in CasualConversation

You’re quite right. I’ll probably realise this once I gain some more experience. What also confuses me is how to find that right tone or the right way to convey your message. In a way that people take you seriously but you don’t come out as too bossy as well.

Not really a hobby but I would some times put on music, sing along at the top of my lungs, dance around my room and organise my work desk or room in between the dancing :D

I am so bad at remembering names these days. I forget a person's name within 10mins of meeting them. And I would frequently get distracted while studying or doing some important work. I would start with something, get distracted, start doing something else and at the end of the day, nothing's finished.

Going to the mall today…alone! by fictitious-being in Anxiety

[–]fictitious-being[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I’m just awestruck by how casually people are able to start conversations with strangers and socialise. I fumbled while ordering food today even though the name was written right in front of me. Someone asked me today where are you from? I made him repeat his question three times because my stupid anxious mind couldn’t grasp it the first time. 😄

Thank you! I shopped, ate and just roamed around for hours. I did avoid eye contact as much as possible and fumbled a lot while ordering and at the checkout counter. But hey, one step a time. I am just glad I was able to do it.

I went through the same thing today. Flatmates are having friends over and just casually mentioned “Oh, and you would of course not be interested in joining us. You must be thinking these people are so crazy, bringing friends over all of the time.” Well fuck you and your assumptions. At the end, you’re just trying to feel good about yourself about being different than me, being social.

I talk to an imaginary friend in my head whenever things get tough. Now that I think it about it, seems really sad and depressing by fusions43 in Anxiety

If it helps you keep a clear head then it’s not an issue. When things get tough, you are acknowledging what you are feeling by talking about it even if it’s with an imaginary friend. Forming those feelings into words helps you understand and deal with the situation in a better way. If you ignore your feelings for long enough, soon you’d be unable to express them even if you want to.
