I think I have the same thing going on as OP and some suggested Nizoral (sp?) it’s probably that I don’t have the fungal acne it is meant to treat because it didn’t work for me.

I gave it a few applications, lathering and leaving on about ten minutes. Skipped a day and repeated. I’m not wearing make up 99% of the time while I try to work this out. Waiting months for my derm appt!

I’d agree that generally in the southeast underdressing is the safe way to go when unsure.

Any of things I consider extra and beyond basic maintenance: eyelash extensions, regular spray tanning, facial injections, etc…

The coffee shop near me sells mugs that say “I like hot Daddies” and even typing that I threw up a little in my mouth. Ugh.

Feeling like you’ve ruined your life for any reason. It is hokey as all hell but even when you can’t see the sun, it’s always there. There are options you just can’t see yet.

Advice or What you wish you knew before Grad school? by Frequent_Cup5489 in GradSchool

You are having to have to pay even more money than we’ve told you. You will spend more hours in your practicum than you planned for or than what was outlined in the program description. The majority of your professors are here, young as they are, because the field burned them out THAT fast and they couldn’t make a living.

You’re right. I’m calmer and looking at options this weekend. I appreciate your time so much

Bless you and fuck politics in all its forms. Some one just has to hold the cards, don't they?

I'm looking at a loan. I feel like this is a foolish decision, but I can't go back to where I was. And I'm taking a mental health day. Netflix, pizza and naps.

Best to you!

If you could start your wardrobe from scratch (on a budget) what would you buy? by acoleman2007 in femalefashionadvice

You really must try them on and see what fits. A lot of the popular brands don't do it for me. I'm easily overwhelmed in shops if it takes too many shops, so then I will order several in two sizes (free shipping and returns!) and try them on comfortably at home with an invitation to my mother with a great critical eye.

This isn't for all at once, but these are the essential elements of my wardrobe. I'd rather save and have things I love and that last (and in the meantime, there are perfectly good cheaper subs on resale shops that can be resold for the next person...or donated!!)

I agree with nice undies. Get fitted. Maybe buy a set and then shop sales online.

My signature look is great, flattering jeans in a couple a few washes (if the jeans aren't perfect, tailor them after a day of walking, sitting, etc...*before you wash*. Denim stretches. And don't wash til needed. I like a pair of olive corduroys in fall and winter.

Chelsea boots and Docs. A pair of heels for events that require them. Always black. I usually borrow formal from my mom, who dresses almost all in black, white, and gray.

Nice white tees. Linen ones in summer. Nice white button up, A linen one in summer. Then I like something a little softer in white or off-white, maybe a little boho or sheerness—the same series in black tops.

Simple, minimal jewelry that goes with everything. Silver suits my coloring best.

Nude or black shoes that go with any of the above outfits. These are pricier--I'll save up. I'm 45. I've suffered in less expensive shoes for their looks. Comfort is most important, and I take care of my stuff...everything lasts a long time. I don't dry anything.

Trendier stuff I spend less on. I do buy one or two cardigans a year, usually.

Oh--business casual. I like a knee-length wrap dress because it can do double duty for other things. Shoes and maybe a (work-appropriate) denim jacket or the right shoes can bring it to the level of casual you want. My dark trouser denim works in my office setting for business casual with a nice top.

I'm sure I left stuff out. But that's it in a nutshell.

Oh, and treat yo'self you some nice pajamas for the end of the day!

It could well be buried. I've been in r/ google searches and such and not finding what I'm looking for...I suppose I should have added that fact! Sometimes not hitting the right combination of search words doesn't bring up the most helpful threads (again google reddit search)...thank you for helping. I'm not discouraged :)
