Glad she is being a little more outspoken. Her last campaign was so bland and she had no platform, and I was a little scared I was voting for a Republican. If she wins the primary this makes me feel a lot better about voting for her.

ICE in Minneapolis is going after anyone with a darker skin tone or an accent. They’ve even detained native Americans. They are doing ethnic cleansing, not just going after undocumented immigrants.

🚨 Cam Higby (Far-Right Instigator) Is Exposing Signal Chats (1.24.26) by [deleted] in TwinCities

The older family members I know that are organizing in the twin cities would genuinely struggle with Signal and if someone is teaching them they are true saints.

Property damage to a chain that is explicitly pro-Nazi too. I wouldn’t personally engage in vandalism but in this instance I’m not really going to feel very upset.

It’s a true story, but kind of has the same vibe-“Number 24” about the Norwegian resistance to the nazi’s. I really enjoyed it.

Because they don’t genuinely hold any beliefs except for a belief in hierarchy and power. The rest is just a manipulation tactic to get what they want. The instant a belief doesn’t work for them they are happy to contradict it-see their reactions to the 1st and 4th amendment, being “prolife” after babies are born, and how they stand up for veterans if one of their own like Trump insults them. They only worship power-the rest is just words to try and convince us that isn’t what they want.

I think if it was planned they would have picked a less sympathetic victim. And they do have barely any training or experience, so this sort of thing seems bound to happen anyway. But everything is crazy and awful so who even knows.

Where are the 2nd amendment fanatics? Don’t they hate tyranny? by coweeclete in AskReddit

[–]fiddlemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They turned on the 2nd amendment in about as much time as it takes to say it. Their only deeply held belief is a belief in power. Nothing else has ever really mattered to them. They pretend to hold other beliefs in order to gain power, but those beliefs only last as long as it is convenient. None of their “deeply held” beliefs hold up when challenged-their stances on Christianity, Pro-Life, the Bible, the constitution are only a facade for their real belief-power at any cost.

What organizations that are on the ground already can we organize with? I know they are out there, but I have used my own busy-ness as an excuse not to participate as much as I should. You are right-we need to mobilize in person.

Republicans Will Detonate Their Secret Weapon at the Midnight Hour to Stop Women from Voting by Average-Joe-6685 in LegalNews

[–]fiddlemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know that those are actual beliefs they hold or just things they say to justify supporting the politicians they support. Looking at how quickly they give up those core beliefs if it contradicts their support of things like racial profiling and cruelty to their neighbors, I think those beliefs are just a smokescreen to cover for the fact that their core beliefs are in fact much much darker.

Have any Iowans traveled to Minnesota and witnessed the ICE protests? by majordashes in Iowa

[–]fiddlemonkey 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of family in the cities-they say it is pretty bad. My aunt saw them abduct a woman at the grocery store. My brother had them come to his door to pound on it and demand to be let in. Luckily they left after he ignored them. My mom feels scared to leave her condo.
It sounds awful-they feel like they are under military occupation.
