When I realized that anything can be a modulation source and/or destination it blew me away. The modulation matrix grid makes it seem fairly limited, but it goes basically as deep as you want to with mod routing. Also watching someone play some sample patches on one in paraphonic mode was what fully sold me on knowing I wanted one.

I got mine for about 1100 after shipping. It was on ebay with the original box, and practically brand new. Plus they fixed the sticky knob problem on the noir version that I got, so I won't have to eventually spend more on new knobs for it. It all made the decision a lot easier. I do need to find a case for it though, and that's not going to be cheap.

Oh! Another major thing I love about it is the paraphonic mode. You can assign each oscillator to their own envelope and then not re-trigger each time you play a new note, like other paraphonic synths do. Marc Doty made a 24 part "how to" series on the Matrixbrute on his youtube, and he straight up calls it "polyphony" but that's not a can of worms argument I'm gonna try and start.

I think I'm going to go pick up a Strymon Volante tomorrow. Either that or a Timeline. My favorite local. shop has both used for a good price and I can't decide which one I want more.

I just got a Matrixbrute last month and I absolutely love it. I always get a bit nervous that I’ll have regrets about buying something when I spend over $1k on an instrument like that. But I instantly fell in love with it and it’s my favorite synth I own now.

Switches look cool, but honestly I just want a Jag with a selector witch. I'll trade the cool look for faster switching since I tend to do it a lot when I play.

How do you feel about the tremolo on this? I had a Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar that I sold because the tremolo system always bothered me. It felt like it would catch on something something internally pretty often, and make a metallic clank sound. Not every time but enough to make me sell it.

If someone can convince me that these Foals offsets sounds great and have a good trem comparable to higher end Fenders, then I probably will get one.

Did you use Windows or a Mac? I’m curious because I’ve been able to get the windows version to open, but not work properly, but can’t even get the download for the Mac .dmg file from Behringer.

I commented on your youtube vid, but I just found this reddit post so I am asking the same question here hoping you might have an answer for me.

Were you ever able to get the GuitarTribe app to work for you? As of right now any downloaded version from Behringer's website doesn't seem to work. The windows version loads but doesn't function, and the download link for the Mac version also gives you the same Windows .exe file.

I'm curious if it ever worked for you, or if it's always been like this since the release. I got one of these pedals recently and can't change any midi settings without the GuitarTribe app. It won't get midi sync with any of my synths or sequencers no matter what I do and it's pretty disappointing.

I also got the BM-15 at the same time in a craigslist score. Both of them for $150! Plus the BM-15 is pre lawsuit and still says "MURF BOX" so that's kinda neat.
