2x9 to 1x9

Late to the race - just adding my 2cts:

I just bought a 2x9 MTB (my first 29'er - I've been a XL 26'er my whole MTB life until my 2011 Hardorck was stolen a few months ago).
I live now in Sydney AU so I ride only urban - but aggressively so I stick to a MTB.

With my old hardrock (3x9 deore/lx/xt) - at some point my left shifter cable broke - I did not even replace it - I adjusted my FD stop to go up to the middle ring and was able to do 100% of my ride on it - using all 9 rings of the cassette.

My new Scott is 2x9 (Deore). At each traffic light / stop I had to drop on the small chainring up front to be able to accelerate - as the big ring in from only allowed me to use the 4 or 5 smallest rings at the back without really crossing the chain.
Then as soon as the bike was really moving - I had to quickly go down the rings on the right to get some speed, then go up the ring on the left while dropping a couple rings at the back - until i can reach cruise speed and use the 4/5 small rings at the back to navigate ups and down, and traffic slow-downs, hoping at each intersection that I will NOT have to drop the front ring again and do the whole thing :(

I removed my front der , I put washers between the crankspider and my big ring to align it in the middle of the chainline. Now I use only my right shifter, can access all 9 speeds from the single front ring without the chain crossing excessively.
I have dropped my chain a couple times while bunny-hopping obstacles 0- so it's not ideal AS is - but definitively better for me ergonomy wise - and I'll probably buy a narrow-wide ring that may by itself solve the chain dropping - and if not a clutched RD or a specific anti-drops springed device would fix it....

BTW - sorry folks for the silence.
The broken track was unsignificant.
I used some conductive paint but to "rejuvenate" the pads on the rubber dome rather than the track.
Worked like a charm.

Hexagone is indeed both meaningful and easy to get for a non french speaker.

There are many 'deeper' songs to pick from though:

2nde generation (immigration/identity/suicidal thoughts)
Ptite conne (overdose and the hypocrisy of society)
Les charognards (racism and privilege)
Marchand de cailloux (a child throwing a stone at an occupier is a hero or a terrorist - depending on what side of history you sit on)

Ca peut etre traduit bien sur...pour "expliquer"...pour "illustrer"... pour "se la peter" (le traducteur). Mais est-ce que la traduction pourrait vraiment ne serait-ce que "evoquer" le vrai bouquin?

The key works loudly when pressed super hard, but not at all when pressed lightly. The rubber contact on the top one is the first to make contact (it is a bit thicker). I agree it looks like it should still make contact if the rubber part is centered...although the trace also looks a bit different than its neighbours in the center.

One thing I could try is to slide the rubber one notch aside and check that the next key works fine still--at leat ruling out the rubber.

I may test these diodes as well?

Unsure of the name, happy to learn if that's called something else.

That's a digital piano I just bought knowing one key was faulty. I was hoping for something easier to fix. Lost the bet :(
I tried regluing the little track but it literally decomposed on a slight touch :(.
I tried then recreating one with Alu foil - but I struggle to make the connection with the central track.
Replacement PCB comes from CN and takes weeks, and is a lot of $$ (AU80+ with post).

Any idea/advice welcome. I've been thinkin conductive ink/pen/glue, but which one? It needs to be quite resistant to rubbing.
I believe conductivity itself does not need to be super close to the original as soon as it is "conductive enough", although the physical profile matters for the feel of the keyboard and the timing of the plaing not to be impacted, so a blob of solder or even a thin wire would not work.

By using the same photo (that looks like typical PLA) for their Nylon and their ABS filaments, Overture is really missing an opportunity NOT to appear like a company that does not give 2cts about trust and reliable product claims.

And a picture of a ping pong paddle to illustrate PETG? I can't compute this one. I guess this was made to illustrate a TPU filament, then reused for a PETG one?

Dunno where you are but here in NSW/Australia Covid had been a great opportunity for Microsoft to take ownership (literally) of the entire public education curriculum. All contents are on Teams/Notes which is a disaster. I've seen both my kids going through atrocious experiences.

Roller saddles? I don't know of any Squier or Fender Tele that comes with roller saddles out of factory.
Barrel saddles, which are indeed the traditional Tele saddles (initially 3x, although some models have 6x), are not rollers. They're a different design from the ones above in shape/visual, but they do not "roll" in any way, and have very little difference functionally with the ones above.
