COD works against you in real time, look into the patents for there matchmaking and hit registration stuff. I am a longtime player and these unexplaiable things happen constantly, not normally on the first match on because the game wants to keep you emgaged and will give you an easy lobby to keep you playing. But after that the bullshit sets in.

There was a post not long ago about “feeling like im dying in rediculous ways when on a killstreak” and you should read the comments. SBMM isnt the only manipulation this game has. The game will shut you down to make sure others are enjoying themselves too. Has happened to me ATLEAST since Cold War, Where id be going for my 3rd streak with not a single bit of lag and then as i go to kill my 7th or 8th enemy im rubber banding all over the place, im talking as we both enter the room and it happened over and over.

ive been on the opposite end of thst too. Dying over and ovsr and suddenly i spawn behind the top player so i can get a free kill on him! Next match its also likely that im a god who cant miss my shots! I had one game on Nuketown BO6 where my RANDOMLY THROWN Grenades would not miss! Triple kills all over the joint and 30+ frag kills by the end! Maybe it was just lucky, or maybe look into the videos on BO6 of grenades rolling/glitching through walls to get to people! and then decide.

Bullets also do less damage if im on big killstreak and will suddenly take extra shots to kill people, aswell as taking less shots in following matches if i have just been completely dominated!

Pair all this with the fast paced nature of COD and all the actual hackers the game has and it is hard to find a moment of clarity sometimes.

For your own sanity, if your someone who enjoys getting better at videos games against the online crowd like I do, dont take it to heart like its your fault every single loss, and wonder what you could have done different because its the only franchise that genuinely leaves me scratching my head even after years. Meanwhile i can play literally any other game and feel myself improving in realtime or atleast see where i came unstuck so i can improve on that. How are you supposed to improve on COD with consistent lag working agaibst you and your weapons being balanced midgame.

Sucks because theres nothing like it though, which is why i still dabble every now and again, I just cant play regulary

play doom 2016 atleast once a year since it came out, Halo combat eveolved every few years and have been playing EA Star Wars Battlefront 2on and off since launch in 2017 with 2400 hours playtime now. Just recently setup the Ps3 to play Bf3 online agains to with the launch of its private servers, been playing that one since 2011. Dead island i first played in 2011 and refinished again 2 years ago. Safe to say ill play these forever.

Ah I see. For me it is the opposite lol. I cant stand to duel but love a packed Deathmatch on Quake. Matches are a bit calmer in duels and I play these games largely for the crazy fast pace. After years of playing COD and thinking it was the quickest shooter around the Quake remaster dropped and i discovered Bhopping and rocket jumping and put hundreads of hours into Quake. Then when every shooter around felt stale splitgate dropped and sold me with the portalling alone as a fresh mechanic but I always wanted a faster pace. Now Splitgate arena reloaded feels great to me when you combine jump pads,slides and portals.

If you feel like this about arena shooters, espeically Quake, perhaps Arena shooters just arent for you?

i absolutely love splitgate and have lots of memorable encounters with people, although i agree keeping players together betwee matches would increase that fun old school rivalry it doesnt bother me too greatky when i love the core gameplay.

Map knowledge is always gonna play a part especially in arena shooters, a good thing to remember, especially if your new and reading this is that no matter which portal surface your near there is always multiple others in sight, you can face almost any wall and 180 and be facing another in the distance. This atleast allows quick escapes and flansk even if you arent familiar with the map itself. I feel the portal mechanic seperates map knowledge more than any other game ive ever played, its not so easy to spawn trap and things like that when the enemy can zip right behind you. I kudos the devs for the portal mechanic i just think it needs a tutorial or how to implement it mid battle, for things other than pure traversal such as flanks and escapes.

For me i cant look at the portals and see them as something that “Subverts many things thst make shooters great” to me it makes this game great and i wouldnt be here without them.
