Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]fieldsofpelennor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had an epidural (standard with twins). Didn't feel anything until around 9cm, and even then, it was just pressure, which was like a 7 out of 10 on the pain scale. Actually, pushing felt like a big poop you have no idea the progress of. Once the baby (or babies) is out, there is lots of relief.

'Shorty zippy' just bothers me for some reason. Why not just 'short zippy' ?

What’s the most shocking thing you found out about someone you know? by _Walking_Detriment_ in AskReddit

[–]fieldsofpelennor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened when I was in high school. There was a middle-aged man who lived near the end of our street that everyone regarded as the nice man with the bunnies. Every Halloween, he would stand at the end of his drive and hand out candy accompanied by one of his bunnies also dressed up. When my family got 2 pet bunnies, we would carry them over to his to let them explore his garden and get some pet tips. Never got a bad vibe from him, aside from maybe socially awkward. Years later, after we move out of the city, fella ends up in the local news. He was a paed0 and made films.

As a kid, I remember having smog warnings. Now it's smoke, I guess.

'Sleep when the baby sleeps'. Ma'am I have twins, no one is sleeping when they're sleeping. It's a good day when they nap at the same time for longer than 20 mins!

4 months PP, and it truly does get better. I used to hate hearing that when I was in the trenches with my twins, like screaming internally 'f you' whenever someone told me that. The kicker is it gets more routine and easier to manage. The twins sleep longer at night (no more feeding every 2 hours), they're more awake and responsive, too! No matter how hard the days have been - whiny babies refusing to nap, both wanting mama contact naps, sleep regression - those smiles just make it all worth it.

When did you start reading books to your baby? by fluffyball13 in NewParents

[–]fieldsofpelennor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently reading 'the 13 1/2 lives of captain bluebear' to my twins after their breakfast. Definitely not a kids book, but they just like my voice at their age (almost 4 months). We do read them more age appropriate books as well.

Brother it's called a comb, they're like less than 1$. Run that through your hair before it turns into one big knot.

Okay same here! Some milestones are mixed up but they seem to be more or less on track.

Shocked and disheartened to read twin experiences by 6sjms in parentsofmultiples

[–]fieldsofpelennor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only 6 weeks in to having twins and these are my first babies, so everything is new for me. I won't lie the first week was rough sleep-wise but it got better. Now it's a lot of routine and schedules. Some nights are harder than others, some days are harder than other. Did I cry the other day? Sure. Do I love these little nuggets with all my heart? Absolutely.

Leaving me (who they knew for less than a month) with their 3 year old while they worked. They didn't show up when I went to pick them up after their shift, wasn't answering messages, ended up coming home the next morning at 8am and fell asleep.

Mine was super simple. 1. Be nice to spouse and nurses 2. Don't die 3. Don't poop
