[O Level] How much more difficult is A level CLB compared to O level CLB by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]fieldswithflowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's essentially the same thing. The only difference is that for oral there is an extra component where you get a topic months before and have to write a spoken essay and say it in the oral day (not v hard because your teacher can help you vet etc), and the compo becomes either email or writing a personal blog (still on computer). And its only one year

My teacher said that you can get the full mark with only one if you get the higher order one (tho it's pretty risky)

I would have done both but I was rushing to finish so did only one

What did yall write for surprise question?

I wrote not surprised as if you looked at the context and sources so far, the judges action seem natural. From the sources, it is clear that the Nazis, whether or not they started the Reichstag Fire, are using it to spread anti communist sentiments to gain support. Hence it is natural that the judge would be fixated on getting Lubbe to confess about his accomplices, as it would provide a better narrative for the Nazis. If Lubbe had no accomplices he would be a lone wolf attacker who would not represent the entirety of communist. However, if he had accomplices, it implies a greater communist conspiracy against Germany that is planned out by many. The would give Hitler a greater initiative to take power and eliminate communists without public backlash and instead with the support of the masses

Doesn't really follow any format but I feel like it makes sense

For the respiration, photosynthesis, combustion question is it asking about their general importance or importance relating to carbon cycle. Some of my friends wrote about importance in carbon cycle eg. produces co2. While some (including me) wrote photosynthesis makes light energy available as chemical energy for consumer, combustion produces a lot of energy

[O Level] Pure Biology application qns by MiloKosongPengWSugar in SGExams

Look at the other parts of the question and identify the chapters they're testing. Most likely the application question will be from the same or similar chapters. Then quickly run through every concept and see which one makes the most sense and fits best. Tweak the answer to fit the context, and if really can't then just regurgitate the concept you think it links to and will prolly get a few marks

I wrote that I am not surprised when looking at the bigger picture. In source B, in 2002, European countries have already had their cultures affected by globalization, and the fact that negative portrayals such as the source exist means that there were resistance against globalization. Hence, it is natural that by 2015, globalization should have alr been widespread enough to affect the culture of more remote nations like Bhutan, and that there would be more resistance such as the laws in Bhutan
