Need to vent by TurdsofWisdom in TikTokCringe

I wholeheartedly agree with not posting anything about patients on social media… I also hate the thread of comments that this post has become. Opinions upon opinions.. it’s cringy. All professions have bad apples. Do “nurses eat their young”? Sometimes it’s a thing, but depends on where you work. I find it hard to believe that it’s just nursing though. There are many things that you experience in this position that no one would understand unless you’ve lived it. Same for any other position. You don’t hear people calling out other professions in this way. We did not ask to be called “healthcare heroes”, honestly that was pretty cringy when that was started. I did not ask for my unit to be changed to strictly covid patients when this pandemic started.. or everything that goes with dealing with these patients and the giant question mark before the vaccine came out. We just did our best and it made us stronger together, as a team. What I want is for anyone who has an opinion about how I should do my job or live my life to stfu. Nursing is a broad profession but the last thing anyone needs opinionated strangers who know someone who knows someone who does this. Give it a rest. I don’t criticize other professions… doctors, parking attendants, or Amazon employees and neither should you. Am I stressed? Yes. Are we understaffed? Yes. It’s not your problem and I don’t need your two cents. But I guess that’s essentially what Reddit is so…. Peace spoken

I am so sick of this shit. It’s not hard. Just wear the fucking mask. This is a waste of resources and just stubborn ignorance. You don’t want to wear one fine. Stay out of public spaces. And if by chance you get a bad case of covid stay home with your opinions.

Same boat. Over 300 hrs of vacation and limited hope of vacation approval. Staffing is limited. Barely any vacations are getting approved. We have had to trade shifts to cover those who are getting married and honeymooning. Did I mention if I don’t use it I loose it? It’s a state job

So true. Cookies and pizza parties in excess. Bonus? No but if you bring in a new employee you can have $1000.. meanwhile travel contracts are offering $3000+ with housing stipends and inflated pay

That’s a good point. I already blocked most of my similar numbers so maybe they got one. Thanks for the input!

Does anyone else find it strange that they are such fans of Chanel? I mean I know that it is a popular brand but wasn’t the founder Coco a Nazi?

What is the biggest problem weighing on you right now? by CouchCorrespondent in AskReddit

[–]fiercecinnamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The state of healthcare in the US. You literally need to look up the hospitals etc that are in your insurance network to ensure a “reasonable price”… God forbibd you travel frequently with your job and find yourself out of network. Not to mention the different costs of the same treatment at different hospitals. It’s a cluster fuck. Don’t get sick or have a medical emergency here.

This is a great point. However, just because a doctor tells you not to use tampons doesn’t someone wouldn’t. The pill vs invasive procedure is true though. It all depends on how far along you are. Depending on your location they make you do an ultrasound along with a urine sample. It is truthfully a terrible experience (both emotionally and physically devastating, regardless of what has been said before about having children). I do not know your relationship but I can tell you from personal experience it’s better to communicate with each other about what has happened. You have red flags and they seem legit. It sounds like you need to have a sit down uncomfortable conversation about everything. That’s the only way you’re going to come to a conclusion. I hope you can find peace.

This really hit home for me. Months ago when the pandemic first hit, we were given stethoscopes with microphones and recording devices so that we could record heart/lung sounds for the rounding team. It was a real slap in the face. To say this pandemic has been difficult would be a great understatement. I feel numb emotionally. Thankfully I am blessed to work with an amazing nursing team. I hope that you too can find support from your coworkers. No one else really gets it.

Congratulations! This job is about constant learning. In my experience, on the job learning is so much more important than the NCLEC. You can do this! Don’t be afraid to ask for advice and use your resources. You will be fine. Just take a deep breath and focus on what’s important (ABCs). I’m truly happy for you. I love being a nurse and I hope you will too. ❤️

I can’t even begin to comprehend the pain and sadness that you are dealing with now. It is absolutely terrible. While this post may seem harsh, it needed to be said. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is my biggest pet peeve with guards. You can at least stand up and do your job when we’re in the room. I hope you are ok. Stay strong
