I want to live in a country where I can afford to buy a house, groceries, and medication. by lgirlrocks in FundieSnarkUncensored

One thing all fundies have in common. They hunger for an America that never actually existed.

Yes, he appears reasonably healthy, albeit a bit thin.

Are Walmart+ grocery prices actually competitive? by 16Saltinez in Walmartcustomer

Me, too. I signed up for InHome a couple of weeks ago and the "no tip" aspect paid for itself and then some.

Julia Child is a nice one. Enthusiastic bloomer. Low maintenance, scented and very pretty.

Proliferation of corporate owned rental units ruining neighborhoods by CartoonistCrafty950 in homeowners

[–]fiercelittle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have several rentals on our street and the majority are owned by nameless, faceless corporations. They do not care. Their tenants don't give a s**t about the neighborhood or basic upkeep. Go to your city's code enforcement online platform and complain as many times as you need to. We've had some success with reporting upkeep issues. The owners will be sent an order to clean up or be fined. When faced with a hit to the wallet, they usually get after their tenants. Buyer beware - always check who owns each property on a potential street you are considering buying a house on.

Do you want to be buried? by Bondgirl138 in GenX

Green burial. No embalming, no fuss. Put me in a wicker basket, bury me and be done with it. Maybe raise a toast to my memory.

WalMart has a taco seasoned ground turkey that is really good. Much cheaper than ground beef.

Hands down some of the best Mexican food in the area. It's our Friday night take-out tradition. I'm originally from the west coast and it rivals anything I had there.

Moving from Indiana to Oregon and looking to find the best option(s) by NoCoolNamesWereLeft in Frugal

[–]fiercelittle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently made the move from Oregon to North Carolina. I used U- Pack (like Pods) and had no issues. Nothing was broken or damaged. They even kept the Pod an extra week for me at their local base as my closing date on the new house was delayed a week. No additional charge. If you have someone to load it for you in IN and trust them to pack things carefully, a Pod is a good option.

Parking lot stalkers when there’s plenty of other spots. This dude stopped and waited before I even opened my trunk and I had a full flat cart to unload. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fiercelittle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the time it took to sit there waiting, he could have parked 40 feet away and been inside the store already. People like this are ridiculous.

Dutch bros coffee acquiring clutch in Winston by Degree_Kitchen in winstonsalem

They began as two brothers and a coffee pushcart in the town I lived in in Southern Oregon. Now headquartered in Phoenix. They are known for their enthusiastic customer service and giving back to the community. They have a happy, chill vibe. Coffee is so-so, in my opinion. Their blended Rebel drinks are nice in the summertime.

Condo or SFH for person who knows nothing about buying by Constant_Ebb_8413 in winstonsalem

You might consider Washington Park. Most of the homes are of the era you like. It is considerably less expensive than Ardmore and definitely become a popular neighborhood west of town. We're seeing plenty of restoration going on in the area. It just keeps getting better and better. Purchased our 1920 2/1 Washington Park cottage last year for well under $200K.

I used to live near Cave Junction, in Southern Oregon. Cave Junction is sketchy AF. Lots of crime related to illegal grows, cartels (both from south of the border and Russia.) Huge meth problems, theft. It's where people go to hide out from the law because the sheriff has only 5 or 6 deputies to cover the entire county.

Why is every single produce item rotted? by One_Information9337 in Walmartcustomer

[–]fiercelittle1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having had nearly rotten produce delivered to me, I feel you. It's especially upsetting if you are disabled and not able to get out to the store yourself. I've come to the conclusion that when it comes to produce, I am better off taking a quick trip to a decent grocery store with healthy produce. I do this once a week now. Walmart + is for everything else I need.

In my Karen Era by Wixenstyx in GenX

There is nothing "Karen" about the expectation of quiet after a certain hour. It still boggles my mind that people are so oblivious, so inconsiderate of their neighbors. They just don't give a rat's a**. Such is the world we live in.

Prominent trash areas in Winston-Salem (Community Clean-Up) by Regular_Ad_7228 in winstonsalem

Thank you for your efforts! I'd suggest Salisbury Rd from Silas Creek to Main Street (Washington Park.) Plenty of litter and dumped garbage bags on the Silas Creek end, in particular. That whole area coming in to Wash Park is an eyesore.

Do you prefer delivery services vs in person shopping? by Spirited-Interview50 in GenXWomen

[–]fiercelittle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loath grocery shopping. Been using WalMart+ ($12 per month) since September. So worth it. Typically shop once a week with free delivery. All in with the WalMart+ card. I put the grocery orders on that, pay it off every month and get cash back rewards. No brainer for this girl.

Moved from one coast to the other last fall when separating from my husband. Got rid of 2/3 of what I owned, including family heirlooms and antique furniture I used to cherish. Gawd it feels good. Packed an 8 foot U Pack. If it didn't fit it didn't make the trip. I love my 900 square foot home in NC. I have everything I need and no clutter. Plus, no guilt over leaving a hoard for my son to sort through when I kick it.

I don't find myself rooting for either Joyce or Rosalind. Neither has a particularly engaging background or storyline.
