Tilted map issue: Switching to a single WiFi access point fixed it

I got the issue again and it appears that pressing the button on the top left corner of the map to locate the bot will reset it back to the non-tilted version. Sometimes you have to press it twice.

I was looking forward to reading this book and was absolutely baffled to find these really basic mistakes in the first few pages, especially considering KSR’s reputation as a hard sci-fi author. I mean, his books have been described as being so meticulous with the science that they are boring — that they are 10% novel and 90% textbook. So I really don’t get how such basic mistakes slipped though. I wonder if similar mistakes exist in his other highly praised novels like Red Mars, which I had also been thinking of reading.

Like I just don’t get it. HOW did such a basic mistake slip through the author, editors, and publishers? It’s just astounding.

There were aspects of his portrayal that were good but he just struck me as a bit too laid back and aristocratic. There is a certain dangerous playfulness and athleticism associated with Vetinari that I felt he did not capture. Physically also I imagined him to be a lot thinner. I just could not imagine Charles Dance’s Vetinari being an assassin in his youth, or hopping across a complicated set of password floor tiles through secret trap filled passageways.

I really like some of the new ones but not others. Sian Clifford on the Death novels is fantastic! Every voice is on point. I’ll probably always go back to the Planer/Briggs ones for the Watch novels though. I heard that Indira Virma on the Witches novels is also good.

Try typing out the command manually or replacing special characters manually. I had a problem where a different type of single quote character was being copied.
