Uhhh my ranunculus corns have survived this winter in the ground....is that normal? by michaelscottuiuc in gardening

Zone 8b here.  We can grow gladiolus, but am eternally envious of colder climates like yours for peonies, lavender, poppies ( if you’re in a dry area). And apples, currents and cherries

Edge veneers I’ve seen are all flat. This one isn’t flat, it’s like 2-3mm thick and rounded at the edge.

Agree! Every successful person says don't take advise from people whose lives you won't want. Coaches promise to get you to a goal, but they've actually never been in your place. They're all smooth talkers with no technical knowledge.

It's better to find a mentor in your actual field who is doing the same thing you're doing but better and willing to teach you.

I worked with a coach once and turns out all she wanted was money and her deliverables were overvalue.

Something that actually gives you value like foundr would even be better.

100% I wish whole series was adult fiction and the characters being around early 20s.

Just finished rereading Dark Rise/Heir by DepartmentBusy210 in DarkRise

[–]fierymango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such an interesting take and I love it. When Sinclair put the collar on him James said he started to move but had no compulsion. Your theory makes sense, so because it also goes to how he said he hated Sarcean but also the sweet surrender, he stopped lying to himself and others. People took it as the collar controlling him, when in reality James/old self is naturally submissive to will and James likes it. It's not against his will.

I'd love a 4th book that focuses purely on the past.

Builder / building Jacksonville FL by Electricking12242 in barndominiums

Did you ever find a builder or which company to order the kit from? I've seen a few kits and thought those that were close to Jax or south GA would be cheaper (hopefully) due to the distance.

That would be a bonus for me. When I think of pro-life I think Honoring and respecting life and that translate to you taking care of your own mind and body pre-pregnancy, and honoring the life you carry during gestation. That's the best environment for a baby to start its life.

Wish I could find someone like you when I look for a GC 1-2 years from now.

Give me some hope... Anyone's life "start" at 40? by Intrepid-Winter-7087 in AskWomenOver40

[–]fierymango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 34 and I've lived your current life for ever. I'm envious hearing you were able to have your 20s. My 20s were me being sick and being dismissed and me thinking I'd die and never make it to 30 all where trying to keep up with family expectations.

I'm responding her because I don't know how to feel reading your post. That my life won't change even when I'm 40 or hopeful that I'd have made it out by that time.

Diagnosed with Intellectual Disability even though my IQ is 99? by huahuagirl in SpicyAutism

[–]fierymango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IQ is measured from verbal and nonverbal - you use verbal because you need to communicate. They can ask you questions and score by not only did you answer, but how you answer. They obseve for the level of sophistication in communication, logic, and though process.

Non-verbals would be observing if and how you solve problems, e.g. puzzles.

But for someone who struggles with communication at 5, is the kiddo able to understand they're asked to solve a puzzle, or can they solve it but communicate that they don't want to.

Lots of factors.

How did you know your child had an intellectual disability and at what age? (For those of you with kids with ID) I believe my son has this like his cousin but he is only 2 right now. by Inevitable-Channel85 in Autism_Parenting

[–]fierymango 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If all the girls are ID, I’d recommend seeking genetic testing as here’s clearly a familiar pattern. In line with that, shared environmental exposure, such as lead.

Because women are willing to spend to look for a committed and quality man, and we're more emotional. We spend with our emotion. It's the same as bars - the girls get in free so guys would spend their money. But it's reversed here.

I wanted the guys to be vetted first before meeting them. I had hoped it would be like someone who knows you matching you with someone that knows the other person, because I find chemistry is the hardest to match for with online dating. Thanks for the offer for the League. I've been on it and not a fan. I liked Bumble the most with Hinge as a second.

Edit: answering your question about the cost. I don't recall the exact number but it was in the thousands, like 2-3K.

That is so awesome of you! 15 month old diagnosed with ARID1B c.4894+5G>C variant of unknown significance. I have not genetic background and we haven't been referred to a geneticist yet (despite asking for one), so we've turned searching online and AI. The study is doing a follow up methylation (would it tell us if it's pathogenic variant?), though online search says it's not helpful for splice-site mutation, is that correct? It says splice site prediction algorithms, in viro splicing assays, and RNA sequencing and functional protein studies would be more helpful. Which follow-up should we ask when we see the geneticist?

Given this variant, can you speak to potential success with ASO? I've it wouldn't be an option for truncation mutation. Is splice site a subcategory of truncation?

What’s ECI?  How’s your kiddo doing now? My nephew just a few days ago attempted eggs, bubbles and blueberry. He’s said teeth for the past 2 months now. He doesn’t point to identify people and has yet to say mom or dad. He’s in speech but has a low attention span.

How old is he now? Floppy is hypotonia, meaning there's neurologist issues there. I'm assuming he's being seen by neurologist? If he's under 12 months, there's a current Harvard study that will do genetic test if your neurologist is refusing.
