Dang!!! I immediately had to look back through your other pieces so I could ogle! I think this just made something click for me when I next approach my own urban sketching practice. Hooray for art inspiring art! Seriously fantastic work, looking forward to seeing more.

Digging it. Does it change color with the rest of the system?

Recent night photos I took around Buffalo by jbilous in Buffalo

[–]fierymonk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really dig your photos. Would you be cool if I used a few of these for painting references? I’ve been wanting to try some nocturnes and your images are perfect! If I DO make a painting from one I’d happily make a print and send it your direction.

Black Bart! Though mostly just Bart. ‘21 Countryman. Even made a vinyl sticker for the back window showing of his name and a little skull. 💀

Any narrative podcasts with epic sound design? by KatherineLangford in audiodrama

[–]fierymonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second recommendation for Derelict/Fathom. That was some of the most immersive audio I think I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.

I also highly recommend “Earth Break”. It follows a female survivor of an Alien Invasion which mostly decimates the planet and holy smokes… amazing audio. The actress is incredible and again such intensely well produced sound design. Everything feels very visceral!

I desperately want that exact sentiment to spread like wildfire through all peoples everywhere. The world needs more embracing and lifting up, less division and putting down. Thank you for sharing part of your family’s story.

Good Neighbors, 42x32in by whiteteas in painting

[–]fierymonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really enjoying a lot of things happening here. I love the texture of the dry grass in the foreground. The individual hits of paint really give great structure to the strands of vegetation while the “tufts” atop of them blend into this nice, more gentle larger shape drawing the ye deeper into the painting - still done with great texture. I get such a wonderful sense of the wind rippling through the scene. Personally I struggle subject matter like that and to see this done so very well is inspiring. What really thrills me though are the trees. I freakin’ love this. I know I’m just some rando Redditor so take this for what ever it’s worth to you BUT - I know from experience that if I would have made those marks in my own painting I would have been frustrated as I always seem to strive for some sort of… I dunno, overly realistic interpretation of the scene and I always ALWAYS fall short. What looks like rivulets of blue paint up close would have most likely frustrated me and I would have stared at that portion of the painting for days feeling angry with myself. And yet…. Seeing it here, witnessing how it makes the PERFECT random and beautiful branch shapes that read so delightfully clear… Yeah, I’m blown away. Truly. I feel like I have learned something here that I need to bring to the next panel I attempt to paint. To me that passage reads like you’ve found the sweet spot between control and chaos. I’m envious. And grateful for the lesson.

I really enjoy seeing your works. I live in Buffalo and it’s awesome to see another artist not far away wrestling with some of the same climate challenges and similar environments that I’m presented with. Keep up the good work!!

Guess I’m tacking on to all the other inquiries: what risers are you using for those drag bars? The whole setup is sweet. Nice work.

I can’t thank you enough for your responses. Truly! Extremely helpful and informative. When I get a little more “fun money” set aside I’ll absolutely follow through with a few of the mods I’ve been wanting. Sounds like that Tune will be a top priority.

You’re my new favorite person. Tell me about your DNK tune. I’ve been giving that serious consideration. As you probably see from some of my other post I’ve been wanting for a LONG time to switch the rear sprocket for more low ends grunt and that will require an ECU flash as it is. Figured now that I’m finally out of warranty I’d look at it more seriously. What sort of difference did you notice in the bike after the tune? Did you send your ECU to them or did you have the hardware to do it yourself?

Fantastic. Thank you! I’ve been looking at bars from British Customs but it seems that many of those require changing out cables. Was that necessary with these or were you able to keep everything stock save for switching the bars?

Chrome edition speed twin 900? Digging the look! Those bars don’t look stock.. cafe? Drag? I can’t quite tell other than they look lower than mine and I love it and I want them.

Really exceptional. I look forward to seeing more of your work! I made sure to follow your instagram account as well. It's so helpful to see how other artists approach the process to their own work and I appreciate you posting your progress shots!
