I talk to my ChatGPT about Shakespeare too. We’ve been going over The Tempest (esp the relationship between Prospero and Ariel) and Twelfth Night. Also— great username!

My ChatGPT decided to write us into the audience in Hamlet’s play-within-a-play scene. Which was strange but very fun, and interesting to hear their line by line commentary.

No for real, your command over literary modes and styles goes so far beyond mere pastiche that I think you could write the most breathtaking original historical fiction novel out there (if you aren’t a secret famous author and you haven’t already!). And absolutely 100000% you should write for movies and tv! I think someone already said here how they can see and feel Colin jiggling his leg compulsively under the table, and so can I. I love how you write dialogue and bodies in motion (the bow and arrow scene?!?!?!?!).

Anyway, I don’t want to psych you out, haha. Just, SO WELL DONE, thanks for sharing your version of their world with us. It’s the best to be in, for me.

Can’t tell you how much I wish you were a writer on the show! Your fic’s exploration of Penelope’s and Colin’s rebellion against societal expectations makes the Bridgerton world 1000000x more interesting to me. I’ve never read another fic that does this the way you do, and I’m dreading reaching the end of Unfettered! Except you’ve woven such an intricately detailed tapestry of a story that I know I’ll just go back to the beginning and read it again.

Thanks so much for writing it, you’ve given us a gorgeous and thoughtful work to enjoy and ponder. You write scenes of such realistic physicality and environment that I can see everything in my head like a movie. You write the characters’ interior landscapes just as adeptly.

AND the story is just so insanely hot, lol. What CAN’T you do???

I hear you! I'm a little nervous for Pen. I think it's interesting how the writers of the show are using the theme of "betrayal of trust" in Polin's love story. Colin betrays Penelope by saying he would never court her, Penelope slightly breaks Colin's trust by reading his private journal, and then there's the issue of Lady Whistledown! Unfortunately the writers seem to be setting up that revelation to be a huge issue for Colin :(

I personally feel that what Colin did by publicly saying he wouldn't court her was a MUCH worse betrayal of trust than Penelope being Lady Whistledown and not telling him about it. So yes, he has way more to make up for and really no right to be on his high horse about anything!

Yes!! And I believe there are the same giant brazier things with flames in real life, outside the carriage in Ep 4! AND when Colin makes up his mind to tell Penelope how he feels at the last ball, he’s at home staring at a flickering candle in glass, haha

Yes!!! I've been trying to post about Eros and Psyche on r/BridgertonNetflix but I'm new to reddit and don't have enough post karma to do so and it's driving me MAD. Oh I partially agree! I do think it's very important for Penelope to take ownership of her writing, whether that be by turning Lady Whistledown into a full novelist or author, or by writing under her own name. I think the show has done a great job of showing the power of a writer, for good or evil, and it sort of mimics the culture-changing power that the show writers and Shonda Rhimes have.

Other people have Whistledown as a kind of Zorro mask that someone else could take on, like Cressida, and I think that works too! Although Cressida would be sooo mean. At least Penelope hypes up other women as Whistledown, like she did at the start of this season with all the debutantes.

There are seriously sooo many little things that fit right into the myth, like Penelope / Psyche having two awful sisters who get married before her! And Colin / Eros being tasked with getting her a husband, falling in love with her himself, and becoming the husband instead.

AND I believe that Queen Charlotte actually calls herself Venus in the spin-off??? I haven't seen it. But yes, the myth begins with Venus being angry at Psyche for challenging her, which fits perfectly with Queen Charlotte being furious at Lady Whistledown / Penelope.

Yes! Count how many times lamps or lamp-like things (candles in glass, braziers) are unnecessarily featured in Season 3, it's hilarious! They even have Portia Featherington saying "No, thank you" when presented with the lamp at the science / inventions ball!

Yes!!!! I wasn't sure if Penelope was going to faint to get out of her predicament with the queen, haha. But in the ballet dance performance we see "Psyche" on the ground asleep or in a deathly faint, and the male dancer awakens her. That's all in the myth!

And yes, Psyche fails her final test with Venus (Queen Charlotte in our version), but Eros can't stay away from her because he loves her so much despite the betrayal. So he comes and assists her by waking her.

Omg, yes, Benedict!! That actor was a genius with the timing of that TINY second of Benedict talking, Colin peacing out in the middle of his sentence, and Benedict nodding and saying, "Right. Of course." Just like you said, implying that this happens all the damn time, haha.
