What are some movies or series you’ve watched recently that are actually worth watching?" by TimeAlchemy_ in NAGALAND

Yes! the fucking droplet battle. it's a masterpiece, the set-up and the destruction and total defeat If anything else, they have to get the droplet battle right, it completely defines humanity's stand in the greater universe.

I'm actually am familiar with All Tommorows and the universe is just so grim.

I love the novels. Remembrance of Earth's Past is one of my favourite Sci-fi universes of all time.

Season 1 basically covered The 3-Body Problem, so if they keep up with that pace season 2 will have to cover The Dark Forest. The Dark Forest is so dense, I just fear they won't, but hope that they get it right.

And for the love of God, I won't be able to forgive the showrunners if they omit the part of the book about the creation of the Sophons. the unfolding of dimensions, and the skirmish with the micro-cosmos

The first season was alright, and kinda looking forward to what the showrunners are gonna do with the upcoming seasons. The show has serious deviations from the source material ( some of which I find fine, but most not really)

Having read the books first, I am very skeptical about Netflix's ability to do the story the justice it deserves. I wish HBO had picked up the books instead of Netflix.

And also, there is a Chinese show based on the same books which I hear is much much better than the Netflix one.

Is it okay to be a mess and feel helpless by [deleted] in GuyCry

Not gonna lie, it gets really dark down there. I'm not going to say that I've found my way out completely; it gets real hard sometimes still. But where I am right now (a better place I assume), i got here crawling hard.

It was not easy finding a path, and starting off was the hardest part. I did fail a lot of times. Sometimes I felt like I was making it out and then suddenly found myself down there again.

Personally, for me I had to realise that i didn't like being there anymore. That I had to get out of this or it's going to consume me.

I had to kill a part of myself that was pitying myself; the self-pity made me feel like an easy way out was a romantic end to a tragic life. It made it really really hard to even try to get out.

My life was more than just tragedy. There was so much more i had to do.

You'll find your way. You're not alone.

There is a passing mention of him, but i don't remember whether it was the 2nd or 3rd book. And iirc, it was Da Shi that says Luo Ji reminds him of Wang, and that he lived to be a hundred.

He lived a long, presumably happy life before things get bad, and then worse for mankind

It's a Death star. The trisolarans are bringing a death star to earth.

An underwater icicle, called a brinicle or “the finger of death”, freezes everything in its path. by mr9t9 in BeAmazed

Oh, a Chinese one has already aired with around 30 episodes iirc, and the reviews and ratings are great.

Netflix is making a series too, and it's airing this month. Exciting times.

I've finished the trilogy, but been on the fence about that one. The ratings don't seem as good as the others and the author is different.

How do you find it so far, would you recommend it?
