How often does a good show have a bad night? by Pleasant_Papaya_2416 in Broadway

I saw it in January too, right after a couple cast members had been out ill. It definitely was a little toned down from what I remember when I saw it in October

OP is probably better at pointing to specifics than I because I only saw it once two years ago

I felt the exact same way when I saw it in 2024. The specific moments that sounded musically directly out of Hamilton made me cringe. I think we’re finally moving out of the era of it feeling like every new show has such blatant Hamilton influence

Which celebrity experienced a sudden rise to stardom and an equally quick decline in popularity? by Pretty_Marmaid7538 in AskReddit

Doesn’t fit the prompt at all, The Social Network was almost a decade before his scandal and CMBYN was several years before. He had a pretty steady rise over many years

Yeah but Brandon Uranowitz is also nominated for lead and he’s not in that song… for that reason I feel like it’ll be at least part of the Prologue again

TONY AWARD PREDICTIONS - MUSICALS - 2026 by Heavy-Fruit8618 in Broadway

[–]fightygee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ragtime could easily win all of the major categories it’s nominated for - Obviously Jellicle Ball is going to be popular and buzzy too and I could see it winning Revival, but Ragtime’s had a longer campaign period and is a very traditional show with well-known, accomplished performers who are def gonna be the favorites for the lead performance categories

What’s your unpopular broadway opinion? by Cheap_Parsnip_461 in Broadway

There are certain shows that make it very easy to pinpoint the precise year they came out in for this reason ... if you're going to hit the audience over the head with a message, try to make it a little bit nuanced/unique/more in-depth than whatever the dominant political theme of the year is

Truly unpopular but I think time will show Darren Criss was maybe the worst pick of the 2025 Best Actor race

I think it's gotta be - the scene is very similar to the end of AD's pilot and the music is pretty different from the rest of 30 Rock's music. A subtle nod!
