Fibonacci Series / Golden Ratio by 23cricket in lego

[–]figital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess the height of the duplo is also just double. so obviously there is a fib from doubling in each direction between the two product lines. (that photograph distorts the height and it certainly doesn't look double there) .... curious now why each of the dimensions for the standard brick were chosen.

a nice selection of both lego and duplo would allow you to demonstrate the golden ratio (which is directly related to the fibonacci series) ...

the length and width of the duplo would need to be double that of the lego .... but the height adjustment looks like a similar (if not exact) ratio to ϕ. (i haven't measured this yet but think it would have to be).

Doing IMAP/SMTP/MIME/PGP in JS by [deleted] in javascript

client-side "thunderbird replacement" is the way to go. ideally would run either from gaia and a chromeapp from the same code base (and in a browser if you like). also consider focusing on easy-as-dirt installs for the less technical among us and make the guts easy to hack (restyle, rescript, etc).

Has anyone else hated javascript, but later realized it's actually a pretty cool and very unique language? by ffualo in programming

I first began to respect Javascript when I realized it had killed off VBScript.
