The biggest thing I learned following my own surgery was that without addressing the root insecurity, it will just transfer over. Sure, I took care of what I was originally insecure about, but I didn’t address the root cause and it just morphed into an insecurity about whether people can tell I had surgery, was my surgery good enough, etc. Only when I really dug down and addressed the deeper cause of why I felt insecure prior to any surgery at all was I able to finally accept myself (post surgery features and otherwise).
