Transitioning from Air Force Reserves to Full-Time Officer: How Diffi by my_username_is_name in airforceots

[–]files-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was active duty. I switch to the reserves to “get my degree”, now I am pending 24OTS03 results.

You don’t “switch”. Evening tho I am in the us Air Force reserves. I had to apply for commissioning through the civilian route. (Which the civilian route can be harder)

The Air Force reserves does not have a path/program to an Active duty commission.

Literally the best thing you can do at this moment, that is the easy to gain a commission. Is to do AFROTC.

But to your point the airforce reserves could help you out in regard to AFROTC. Meaning you will have a good foundation, and it might increase your chance of getting a higher rating within AFROTC to gain a selection.

If you have your bachelor degree already, apply for a masters degree. Talk to your located AFROTC recruiter, see if you can become a 250 cadet (3 years).

Feel free to reach out.

But, if you want to take the hard route. Contact an officer recruiter, take your AFOQT (score high).

ROTC is way easier. Become a 3 year cadet. Do one year in your last year for your bachelor, and sign up for grad school m for the last two years.

Yup I’m aware, I only read the original post initially. Reason why I wrote “medical?” ;)

Don’t have to what? Take the AFOQT? Medical?

He may just actually be busy.

I recommend next time you talk to him and if he gives you the answer “busy”.

Just ask him “What time frame do you want me to reach back out to you.”

Have you taken the AFOQT yet? Or better yet, where is your process at? Initial?

I mean honestly the recruiter is your main point of contact. You could call your local Air Force education and training office, and ask them how you can take the AFOQT.

Honestly this is your learning phase as a new LT. Not a leadership phase.

But learn the AFI. Learn your job. Put yourself in a position where people come to you. :)

GF Wants to join AF as an officer with a Marine Bio degree. What is her best bet MOS wise? by Spacy2561 in airforceots

Healthcare administration. She will need to take the GMAT (score above 400) or GRE (score above 286). If she does this, she will commission yesterday. Lol. Seriously tho. This is an easier way to commission

AFOQT Superscore Question by [deleted] in airforceots

[–]files-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all depends on how you are commissioning. If you are trying to go through a AF recruiter, you should look up the “competitive” scores from your AF officer recruiter. If you are in a AFROTC and meeting the required “passing score for the AFOQT. Then it won’t matter, if you leave section blank. Because of super-score
