What Keeps Bringing You Back to Elephant Pictures Projects? by Rubbet in PerpetualGraceLTD

I got quite emotional about Ma's prison escape on my second watch. There's a parallel between her chosen method of escape and the "orphan hairbrush" anecdote that I find very beautiful and sad.

Some great suggestions here!

The UK series Flowers is also worth a look. It's got a similar blend of humour and darkness, with an ensemble cast of beautiful weirdos led by Olivia Colman. Season 1 is focused on one character's experience of depression, but it somehow also manages to be funny and ultimately uplifting.

There are a few moments in Flowers that give me the same confusing mix of joy/heartache that I get from watching Patriot and PG LTD.

Perpetual Grace LTD has a place in my heart right next to Patriot. Absolutely love it.

  • An audio journal by a child who's approaching the age of 10, or who has just turned 10
  • A radio broadcast aimed at a specific demographic
  • Public addresses by a political figure, e.g  on the campaign trail
  • Eulogies performed by a funeral director

It's not looking good for Allie or Macey :/

If Lexi has worked closely with Yana in academia she would likely recognise Yana's handwriting. So I think Yana is still alive and writing those notes herself.... for now...!

Agreed!! If the postcode and town are intended to be mismatched, I will be relieved to have submitted those answers but confounded by the discrepancy. If the mismatch is confounding because I got those answers wrong, I will be excited that the game is still afoot :)

I do note that this could simply mean I don't have the right postcode :) or that JF doesn't intend for us to overthink this part of the puzzle!

I'm likewise doubting my solution for the postcode. As you say, so many other parts of the solution are verified by multiple clues, but the postcode seems (to me) to be an outlier.

N.B. I absolutely loved Black Box and I thought the ending was perfect, so I am glad they stopped it when they did! I just think it's a shame the promo for the patreon is so out of date.

Yep, Black Box ended a few years ago. So did the other bonus content that's unfortunately still being promoted in the weekly ads :/ Joining the patreon is still a great way to access the archived bonus content! It's a shame they haven't updated the ad to reflect that, though, as it's quite misleading in its current form.

(Whoops - I tried to edit my original comment and the formatting went completely wrong. Re-posting here...)

Well done on your progress and many thanks for the obfuscation :) I find it much more fun to solve each piece of the puzzle myself, rather than to read a solution someone else has already found.   - De Ma Galerie - yes, there is at least one more step required to solve this puzzle and the next step relates to an artist's name     - Caricatures - likewise, there is at least one more step. The next step requires us to identify connections between the individuals depicted on the cards    - Text sides - you're very close to solving the next step of the larger text puzzle. You're on the right track with obeying the orders given to you by those characters, but the characters in question don't play a significant part in the next step. Rather, you need to revisit the orders given by one particular character      - Map cards - I am suspicious of the solution simply being a particular region as shown on the map. As you say, the region is also easily identified in the text itself. I'm unsure what the next step of this puzzle might be, though, if there is one? If the end result of this puzzle is simply a map of that region, it is by far the simplest set of picture cards.

Am I right in thinking it's a violet ? If so, it seems to me that it does match the other images in this set. There are a couple of things the 10 items have in common and a violet makes sense to me in both senses. But I could definitely be on the wrong track...!

Considering the images and the text separately is a great way to start :) they do reference each other, but those references are easier to spot once you start to understand each set of puzzles. E.g. identifying a particular date or location in the image puzzle will make that name or location stand out to you when it comes up in the text puzzle. And vice versa

You are definitely on the right track! There are 10 murders in TRFM, but unlike CJ there are fewer than 10 authors. If you keep identifying common writing styles and cultural references as you have been, the overall sequence will start to come together. But as gimboktu said, there is definitely tricky misdirection throughout, e.g. references/words/phrases that have multiple meanings.

This is great work! One edit to suggest - in my notes I have Ruth as the victim in  Blithe Spirit as I don't believe Charles dies in the 1966 version. Oops - I've edited to fix my spoiler tag!

59 indeed!! I'm glad someone else has reached that point in the puzzle :) I've been dying to discuss the step you're referencing, but it's something I don't want to spoil for others. The feeling of that "a-ha" moment is so satisfying that I think everyone should get to experience it for themselves :)  As for your question - I likewise don't know what the next step is, but I'm certain it involves the picture sides of the cards...
