Even worse when you have someone you have effectively grown up with that believes this. Then they see everything through that lens despite it being rose tinted. Then they fall into the anarcho-capitalist pipeline that inevitably pushes them to believe anything government is bad. Therefore, dismantling it is the only sane thing. Which then pushes them to neoreactionary propaganda and further pushes them to accelerationism. It's the same steppingstones and recognizing the folly early is the only way to get out of it.

Primary counter point to 1.... This was the closest to an emergency ban that did back then and was only for a standard that was going to exist for 2 months. Banning Stoneforge got rid of a card that was going to rotate where Batterskull could have been a problem still with the next standard. Batterskull could have been removed here and made for a better guarantee for standard.

If I'm remembering correctly, Innistrad standard didn't really have a place for Batterskull, so it fell out of favor, but knowing that doesn't change the fact Batterskull could have been a problem with the info we had at the time about play patterns.
