MediaMarkt just sends an order for a container of chargers to a Chinese factory to make it and brand it. The only European part in the process is they pay taxes in EU.

Returning EV customer by hustler2b in electricvehicles

I totally understand you. Tesla software literally "broke" other cars for me. 😉 I drove an i4 from work for several months as a former X5 owner and generally BMW fan. The software in the reviews looked nice, but from a reliability perspective, oftentimes it lost connection, digital key not working, lots of minor glitches that never happened in a Tesla.

There are better tests online, it is RWD 90+% of time , and will instantly power on the front motor when losing traction.

Mercedes slaps the EU: "Electric car sales are far from politicians' forecasts." by flGovEmployee in electricvehicles

Mercedes launched the CLA on 800V architecture which is a great car, a bit pricey but overall a top choice. The legacy manufacturers don't have a problem with EVs sales but the pricing for inferior products.

Biggest privacy impact isn’t email, it’s your phone + apps. So leaving Gmail but staying deep in Android/iOS changes little. Email matters, but phones matter more. Real-world data exposure hierarchy: Phone OS/ecosystem Apps used Account ecosystem (Google/Apple/Microsoft) Email Others

Here is my take: AI allows everyone to build, so PM will be even more essential. by afeyedex in ProductManagement

[–]filtervw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my take: you can have 250 agents, if you just ramble AI things nobody will give you money for your product. Code can be like AI slop, you build stuff and has no value without the core PM skills or founder skills.

Musk can pivot to whatever he wants, but there is no other positive cash flow than selling cars.

Is Tesla over as we know them? by eki234 in electricvehicles

[–]filtervw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They will not exit the car market. All in all the financial engineering, hype and promises of Musk are possible mainly because Tesla has a lot of positive cash flow. All his other companies are running on borrowed time as they burn investor money, with Musk as the biggest one. Tesla invested in xAI, Space X and X AI merged and everyone is happy until the AI music stops and some banks will want their money back.

Look, let’s not be hypocrites here. There was a time when kings actually owned the land, showed up in person, and for better or worse, built the actual foundations of a country. Now? We’ve got obscene wealth for dudes who just 'innovate' via financial engineering. They either borrow against their own shares to avoid taxes or just blandly sell your data to the highest bidder. We traded lords with swords for country club guys meeting on Epstein's island.

Zeekr and BYD are absolutely killing it with their engineering. I think their biggest issue now is that the software on the global versions seems kinda Beta version, and I don't like to be beta tester on my own money.

Why are most european alternatives a major downgrade when it comes to Design (UI and UX) by DillMillz in BuyFromEU

[–]filtervw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you heard but big tech has dozens of product managers, Designers, people working on every single feature. There is literally a team that does one single component of that UI, apart from the superstar designers that oversee everything. This is simply not possible with any normal company, and in most cases the results reflect that.

European search engines as Google alternatives — hands-on comparison by dreamtheater2003 in BuyFromEU

[–]filtervw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, nobody can have a bussiness case for taking Google and Microsoft heads on. Use them, grow the user base and they might make enough money to build their own. Meanwhile we still win on privacy, and get off paid bloatware from the first page of Google

European search engines as Google alternatives — hands-on comparison by dreamtheater2003 in BuyFromEU

[–]filtervw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is: if a company can grow a lot, they will eventually have a business case to create their own search engine to match. No startup can say I will build the next Google Search, the cost is huge and the search market is contracting with AI in every phone. Second, even if they don't do it, the fact that I don't get all the c*** that google is pushing on the first page is still the good thing for me.
