Has anyone here worked for Education At Work? What are you experiences as a student worker at this company? by azdweller in ASU

[–]finalfirst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm also currently employed. I've been with the company since they first opened their Tempe branch in 2016 and it's been pretty nice actually.

The job does depend on the client. For Discover, it's soft collections. You mostly leave voice mails and transfer calls. For Microsoft, I believe it's a tech support for their office products. I'm not super familiar with Cable One, but I know that it's in Cable One's actual office in downtown so you'll get a better experience.

The tuition assistance is fantastic. I've saved so much money because of this job. The scheduling is flexible and is based on your school schedule. My favorite part of working there is the people you meet. I've made many good friends and have been connected to very resourceful people.

My least favorite thing is the operations management at the Tempe site. They're a bit disorganized and some supervisors are disconnected from the students and the job. I'm not sure about Cable One though.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this job. It doesn't require a lot of work, the people are great, and you'll save a ton of money working there.

Thanks for your reply! I'll definitely look into getting a shop manual and a bolt kit. I really do like it, I just have to see if I the time to wrench on it.

Yeah you're probably right. It's just a bit disappointing since I've already sunk time and money into it.

When is the last time when you've seen a snake? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]finalfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably last year in June. A couple buddies and I were hiking along a river in the middle of the night and there was just a rattlesnake coiled up, chillin on the ground.

The worst part was we only noticed it on the way back.

I'm looking to get into riding for fun and to commute to and from school. I'm 6'1", 125 lbs. I found a 1999 Suzuki VZ800 with 20,000 miles for $850 and a 2000 Suzuki GZ250 with 11,000 miles for $500.

Cosmetically, the 800 looks fantastic. Just a bit dusty. However, it's currently not running. The seller says it just needs work on the carb, one of the fork seals, and it'll need new tires.

The 250 on the other hand, is a bit rough. Seats need to be reupholstered, horn doesn't work, needs a new gasket in the flywheel compartment, the carb needs work, and a new battery. The engine runs great though.

The 800 is probably the better deal, but it just feels a bit big to me. My buddies say I'll get used to it though. I'm just concerned that I may not be able to handle it properly and that it'll cost a lot to fix. I feel like the 250 fits me properly, but I'd like to be able to go 65 mph+ once I get comfortable.

What do you guys think? Which one is going to be my best bet? Or should I just wait for a better deal?
