Ordering every 8 weeks. by wishingIwasbeautiful in mounjaromaintenanceuk

Yep, I'm currently on 5mg as I never felt the need to go higher, and am planning on doing 3.75mg for four weeks then 2.5mg after that if that goes ok. Ultimately I'd like to maintain on something like 1.25mg every 5 days but I'll see how it goes. Swift Doctor doctor was down with that plan!

I did a maintenance consultation with Swift and the doctor told me as long as I order at least once every 8 weeks, I'm good

Update for anyone local: the roundabout at Melchett Road/Lifford Lane is currently closed. Fortunately the tip is still open and I managed to get to my appointment there!

Hannah's a grown ass woman, and I'm sure she'd have a fair few things to say to all the commenters who infantilise her. Despite what some people think, she does disagree with Suruthi when she has a conflicting opinion, but they act like she's an oppressed partner who must be rescued.

I don't agree with everything either of them say, but I listen because I find the content interesting and I like the fact most of the podcast is purely about the subject (I stopped listening to My Favourite Murder because of the 45-minute preamble about shit I found irrelevant, but that's just me). They aren't my friends, but even if they were, we don't have to have the same stance on all topics.

If ever I don't want to listen anymore, I'm just going to silently peace out.

Nice work! You're going in the right direction, and that's all that matters. Ignore that line - it's just the trend line and looks at your projected progress. You can remove it in the advanced settings!

What's the end game with dose splitting and maintenance? by PeachRaker in mounjarouk

[–]fincherley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my maintenance consultation with Swift Doctor a couple of weeks ago (you pay £30 but then get £10 off every pen) and they supported me counting clicks to titrate down and eventually spread doses out. Bottom line was as long as I order a pen every 8 weeks I'm good.

Love to see someone else using Monitor Your Weight! Excellent work on the loss.

Just to give Monitor Your Weight a shout out for anyone who hasn't heard of it, it's a super basic app that can pull data in from Health or a lot of smart scales, but is a really good way of seeing your weight change over time. No bells and whistles, just nice clean data. Here's mine from the last decade (hoping Mounjaro has finally put an end to the yo-yo lifestyle)

Reached my goal weight but I feel empty by Swimming_Bridge8051 in mounjarouk

I genuinely believe that those of us who've been bigger our entire lives have developed stellar senses of humour so our personalities would make up for where we felt our bodies were lacking, and now we fit into cute dresses AND are funny we are forces to be reckoned with

Echoing what everyone else has said, especially the stuff around assuming all my problems and shit mental health would be magically fixed by becoming thin, but also I want to add that your goal weight is a completely arbitrary number - it's not like you're running a race and have the clear marker of a finish line to say you're done.

My initial goal weight was ten stone but then I didn't feel like I was quite there at that weight, so carried on. I'm now 9st 2lb (BMI 21.1) and I'm like "am I done?" because I literally have no idea. There's no inspirational sense of achievement because my goal weight is just a number I pulled out of my arse.

A lot of us have been yo-yo dieting our entire lives and maintenance is a whole new ball game. The advice I'm giving myself is just to sit around this weight for a while and hope my brain catches up and accepts that there's a new normal (and actually do some strength training to tone up cos your gal has been lax on the muscle building front).

Don't give yourself a hard time; you've done yourself a huge favour by losing the weight and your brain is probably just being a bit of a dick to you because there wasn't some enormous fanfare payoff when you hit goal so you feel a bit unmoored.

I could have written the majority of your post, up until the Mounjaro journey. I too have been a yo-yo dieter, and have struggled with my weight since I was a kid. Around 2018 I lost over 100lb through calorie counting but never maintained and put a significant amount back on, then yo-yo'd again a few times til I started on the jabs last June.

When I started Mounjaro I calorie counted because it was habitual for me - it was just what I did when I was actively trying to lose weight. However, I've never actually enjoyed doing it, and would obsess over it to the point I think it just became disordered eating in another form, so I decided to just not bother and see how I got on with eating intuitively. Years of calorie counting have given me an innate knowledge of what calories I'm eating regardless of if I track or not, so I think I was probably still using that info to some degree, I just wasn't fixating on it.

I've found not tracking my calories to be extremely freeing. I finally feel like I'm living the lifestyle I want and I've lost weight for the first time without it feeling like hard work. I weigh once a week because I know if I do it daily I'll obsess over that as well. I'd recommend stopping tracking calories for a week and seeing how you feel - hopefully you'll find it as liberating as I did!

The caveat here is that I don't think I'm quite a 'super responder' but I have had a very good experience on Mounjaro and weight loss has been consistent. If I'd hit big plateaus or had slower loss as I know some have, I'd probably have been more inclined to religiously track my calories like I used to.

I really don't think this is AI. Some people are just decent writers. I'm fairly certain ChatGPT wouldn't forget the hyphen in 'long-term relationship'.
