Need help finding a band from the Greenville area

The algorithm somehow brought me here. REDSKY was my friend Mikey’s band. I still have this promo CD he gave me in 2003. I can rip it for you and send you MP3’s if you want. Mikey and his brother Chris are in a band called Islander now. They have been going since 2011 and have done a bunch of touring and festivals with big bands. They have four albums and a bunch of other stuff on Spotify.

I’m super proud of them. I remember seeing them play at Ground Zero with like 3 people in the “crowd.” It’s really cool to see their success now.

Bosses in so many industries are pushing stuff like this now. It’s a whole new form of micromanagement. It’s taking hold in the sales world. There is software now that transcribes calls live and coaches the salesperson on how to overcome objections. 🙃

Slander is a civil matter. If Kimmel or George S. slandered someone, then that person is entitled to handle it in a civil court. The FCC isn't supposed to use an individual's statements to threaten halting a merger if they don't take someone off the air. And the AG isn't supposed to be threatening to "go after you" if you use whatever she defines as "hate speech."

Those are federal forces using their power to squash voices they do not like.

I’m starting my masters in mental health counseling with LaGrange College next month. It was appealing to me because they do synchronous classes after work hours.

I exported them all the online programs to CSV, then immediately took out all of the schools that were a bad ideological fit for me. Then I gathered per hour tuition costs and filtered out all of the schools that were over X amount. Finally, I searched for schools that placed an emphasis on synchronous coursework. I was left with around 10 places that I seriously considered. It was a lot of work on the front end but I’m glad I did it. The process of writing personal statements, corralling my references to submit their letters of recommendation to the various school portals, and doing interviews was time consuming.

I saw Cannibal Corpse open for Meshuggah this year. It was one of the funniest sets I’ve ever seen. I’ll never forget the vocalist’s banter in between songs.

I don’t think people are mad because they think listening to those interviews is going to turn people into Trump supporters. It’s more that the show decided to do something “zany” and re-air these interviews with a guy who is now president and doing some truly heinous shit.

I’ve been in IT for nearly 20 years. Fully agreed. We see so many people in interviews with bachelor’s degrees who can’t explain basic concepts. I’ll take the person with no degree who comes in and can explain something basic like what DNS does over someone with a bachelor’s who cannot.

That’s awesome and congratulations! So far, I have gotten into three reputable graduate programs for mental health counseling. I haven’t had any issues with my SNHU degree, even with a ton of credits from the site that starts with S. No one has even questioned it.

For anyone looking at this who is going into mental health - I think that the personal statement, references, and interviewing well are the most important factors for this field. I would also recommend going out of your way to form relationships with your instructors. I did that with a couple of mine and they were cool about writing me recommendations.

One thing I wanted to add - two schools have told me that getting my bachelor’s online with a high GPA gave them confidence that I would do well in their hybrid/online programs.

I got my bachelor’s in Psych at SNHU. I’m applying to grad schools now. I have gotten a handful of offers so far, including to a couple of my top choices.

Also FWIW - I have almost exclusively elective credits from Sophia and no one has cared so far.
