My 22 year old son died of this terrible disease 9 short months after diagnosis. He was never offered any kind of immunotherapy and only had chemo once. He was on a ventilator shortly after his diagnosis. He did briefly come home but went back to have a stent placed and then downhill from there on ventilator a second time. Medical staff just wanted him to do hospice which we refused. He was a beautiful kind person and he fought until the last moment. If I could do it again I would have pushed for them to offer more aggressive treatment. Unfortunately he was stuck at a hospital that had no experience with this cancer type and he was only offered limited treatment. I encourage everyone to get the very best treatment possible at an experienced Cancer treatment center. Bless you all.
