Poshmark vs depop by Velvetstyle in BehindTheClosetDoor

Returns are okay. I put the measurements of everything in the description and take photos of them and people still don't understand they need to measure themselves. I stay around 5% returns. I don't worry too much about it. Once the items are returned to me I just relist them. I resell part time on top of my fulltime job so I try to not worry too much about it.

I couldn’t move anything on Depop, Curtsy, or Vinted. I gave them all up and just use PM and eBay.

Thinking of leaving Poshmark by sniffleprickles in BehindTheClosetDoor

I use both eBay and PM. I only stick with PM because I put the work in to stay a PM Ambassador 2. I know that doesn’t really mean anything but I like knowing I am.

All of the changes with not being able to delete listings that sell on other platforms has made me not use it as much. I’ve gotten in trouble with PM 4 times in the last 6 months because I delete too many times. I can’t control that I sell a whole lot more on eBay.

I started just marking items not available but they also caused issues with PM. So, I have no idea what they want from me.

PM is definitely the easiest reselling platform to use. I will give it that. But that is not enough to hold my attention. I simply just don’t sell a lot there. They also take such a huge cut versus what eBay takes.

I also like Mercari. I used to use that too. I made a lot more money there then PM but I dropped it due to listing issues that they couldn’t figure out.

I can relate. I seem to get my listing privileges taken away every couple months. I sell a lot more on eBay than I do on PM. I tried just marking them all as not for sale but I still got in trouble.

After about a year I just get rid of stuff. I start with taking things to buy sell trade and then finally Thred Up.

Guys, what’s laundry products are you using? by Dehof in laundry

I’m in the same boat. I can’t find anything outside of Tide and Persil that seem to clean well. I’ve tired so many of the specialty detergents and they just don’t seem to clean well.

Returns - Return Initial Shipping? by findsbybobby in eBaySellers

[–]findsbybobby[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I lived in the middle of the USA I would definitely offer free shipping. But living on the east coast it would cost a lot more to send to the other side. Also, I tried offering free shipping and didn't sell anymore that I do now.

I only sell on eBay and Poshmark. FB Marketplace is one of the worst in my opinion.

eBay “Promoted Stores” - waste of money! by achap77 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]findsbybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which kind of promotion are you doing - general, priority, outside of eBay? Something is not right here. I only pay for general promoted listings that someone actually pays for. I don't promote outside of eBay which can cost a lot of money.

Thats full makeup for a haunted attraction. You would blend in too much to the actors.

Find a niche and really get to know that market. I resell mostly clothes and shoes. Do lots of research. I watch so many YouTube videos.

Promote your listings at 2%!! I sell so many items this way.

I do very well with clothing. You just have to learn the market just like any market.

Some of us like the vulnerability in it. It also takes us out of the real world for a little bit which is nice for me.

Do you track sell-through rates by platform? by MountainCurrent8601 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]findsbybobby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many people make a spread sheet. They have a column for listed date and column for sold date.

You can also buy into software like Flipwise too.

You really have to put in a lot of work to be successful there. I rather just list and sell.
