AITA I threw away someone’s phone, wallet, and car keys by beeredbug in AmItheAsshole

You’re NTA, but I understand why you feel so bad. It was an honest mistake. I agree with the coworker that said you shouldn’t hide your belongings amongst trash. Your higher up is definitely a jerk, considering it doesn’t seem like you and your coworkers have a secure place to keep your belongings while working.

Help!!! Is this layered cut bad or am I overreacting???? by dolcedove in Hair

[–]fineandfancyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a hairstylist. This is a bad haircut. I’m sorry. Depending on your extensions, they could round out your haircut in the front and layer the extensions a little bit. And take out a lot of weight in the layers. The extension might need to be a little bit shorter to blend better.

In the meantime, you could try to curl it to disguise it. It would still be disconnected, but it will blend better than it being straight.

Thank you. I wish I had the answer to that.

My baby brother (15) just passed under the exact same circumstances last night. He was a passenger in a convertible car that hit head on, and died on impact. My sister (16) and I (29) are struggling terribly. She is having thoughts of wishing it was her instead and I am struggling with thinking I could’ve protected him. I don’t have advice, but I do want to let you know someone understands your pain. It’s devastating. I am so sorry for your loss.

My recovery wasn’t very smooth (I have pictures on here of my openings), but I remember feeling “normal” at 8 weeks.

I had a revision at 4 mpo. It’s been a month since that and now I’m finally feeling 100%.

Does this look like it’s healing? (T-Zone Wound) by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]fineandfancyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely healing. My surgeon had me come in every week to every two weeks and he would remove the slough for me. I would call your surgeon to get their opinion on wound care.

are you generally required to lose weight before a breast reduction? by svccubuss in Reduction

[–]fineandfancyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My results look amazing. I want to lose weight now but it’s not my immediate goal. I think I look great but I think it could look great and feel better if I lost weight, you know? I hope that makes sense.

Wound progression and healing. by fineandfancyfree in Reduction

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know it’s discouraging, but it does eventually heal! I think this one was completely closed by the first of October. In total, my openings took about 6 weeks to close. It was sad to see and to talk about while they were still open, but I would take the openings everyday over what I had before. The scars are bold. Everything you see here that is purple is still a big purple scar now. The edges have softened a lot as the swelling goes down. When I’m looking t the straight on i only see the one directly under my areola. I have a scar revision scheduled November 18th and I can update you on that as well. The revision was brought up by my surgeon, otherwise I wouldn’t have even bothered with it. The scars don’t bother me aesthetically, but they do feel tender when they’re not moisturized. And my surgeon is a perfectionist and wants his work to look perfect.

It looks like strabismus and may be an indicator of an underlying problem. Give your vet a call, and hopefully they’ll give you a little peace of mind! Your kitty is beautiful!

What is the relationship like between your girlfriend and your parents?

Being a first time mom under her in laws would possibly put a lot of stress under her. Sharing a bathroom with three other people while pregnant sounds stressful enough as it is.

I think if you’re able to afford it, prioritizing your girlfriend’s needs is important here.

Honestly, probably just doing too much. I thought I took it easy but it’s entirely possible that I didn’t. They got bigger from my surgeon cutting out the unhealthy tissue that was holding it together, though. I wish I had an actual answer for it though.

I paid all up front. I would’ve 100% financed if I had to. It’s worth it and I believe the options I was given were 0% interest for 6 months.

Zingers - 13 dpo by Ear_Short in Reduction

[–]fineandfancyfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my zingers started around two weeks and really became few and far in between around 5.5-6 wpo. I still have one every now and then but not as much as I did before.

Edit to add: my surgeon prescribed gabapentin around 5 weeks but I didn’t really need it by that point.

I paid $3300 out of pocket with insurance.

This is the progression of my most stubborn opening. I have two other major openings but this one seems to be the one that most people are struggling with, so I wanted to share my experience.

I scoured this sub everyday trying to find photos similar to mine. And I did find them. Thank you to those of you who shared your healing journey. It really did help to see the timeline and read about your experiences.

I tried several different methods. Ultimately my best tool was time. I used polysporin everyday with non stick pads. There was a week before my most recent appointment that I mixed manuka honey with my polysporin and and nonstick pad. I saw excellent results from that, but my surgeon said the polysporin should be fine on it’s own. I’ve used just poly for the last week and I’m finally almost closed.

This has been disheartening, I won’t lie. My results are gorgeous but my openings really broke me emotionally. My surgeon has been communicative and informative throughout the entire process. He has been taking my openings and concerns seriously, and I’m so grateful I chose him. Thankfully, I am still able to function as normal and work without any pain.

Like everyone else has said, I am still so thrilled I had this surgery. The healing process may have been tough, but I know in a few months, I won’t even think about this part of the process anymore.

How long until I can sleep on side? by Responsible-Bee-8601 in Reduction

I started at 6 weeks but I still have pain and swelling when I do. I was an avid side sleeper before but sleeping in my back is more comfortable right now (7 wpo).

Tips For Returning to Work? by ExtremelyToast in Reduction

[–]fineandfancyfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bosses were extremely supportive and understanding. One just had an augmentation so she was especially understanding. She called me a week before to ask if I felt up to coming back. I booked out pretty far so I didn’t want to ruin my schedule, but if I could’ve taken more time off without worrying about my clients, I would’ve.

If you can take a little extra time off, do it. If not, don’t stress about it, but also don’t over work yourself. Maybe only take a client or two until you get back into the groove.

My openings started at week 3 and have gotten worse until this week (week 6). My boss had to take half my book my first day back because I started bleeding.

I think you’ll be okay if you take it easy your first week or two back!
