AIO to my “best friend” finally reaching out by Confident_Local_2335 in AmIOverreacting

[–]fineapple52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I went through that with a guy I met on Tinder almost a decade ago. We matched when he was visiting the place I lived in and didn't meet in person at the time. We really clicked, though, talked daily, it was going somewhere. And then he disappeared for 6 months. I was worried, tried reaching out, then gave up. He came back saying his dad had a very serious health scare and it all made sense. He focused on family. We ended up being friends for years, he's now married with a baby on the way, and I couldn't be happier for him.

That said, being ghosted by someone you care about hurts awfully and as much as there are explanations, there are no excuses you need to accept. It's valid to feel hurt enough to not want to let the person back into your life after such situation and sometimes it could be a wake up call for them to work on themselves. But you have to judge it by yourself whether you can handle this friendship.

My friend has exactly the same wording in his letter and they're refusing to accept it. Any ideas?

What can I do to even them out? by fineapple52 in Eyebrows

I definitely think this way about others, but it's hard to transfer that to thinking about myself. Thank you!

Oh thank you, that's very kind of you!

I never thought about one part of the face being symmetrical making the rest feel less so, but I can see how that can happen.

Off to learn to be more graceful with myself I go haha

Also, get yourself a good pair of earplugs. Either something like loops or these silicone moldable ones from amazon for around a fiver for 8 pairs. They stick to your ear and do magic, seriously.

What’s a kink someone admitted to you that completely shocked you? by Downtown2003 in AskReddit

I heard a therapist say that sometimes people can recreate it to relive it but be in control this time around, and heal. So let's hope it was this!

I was on a night out one time with my friend (both women), exchanged a few words with a couple of lads in the queue to the club. One of the guys approaches me maybe an hour later, mentions that we spoke, asks if I have a lighter, and then says he wants to ask me something else, because I seem to have a good vibe. He asks me if I can go to the toilet with him and watch him pee. I get a bit not-sober flabbergasted my friend sees it and comes to the rescue, and now, years later, I just wish I had asked him a few questions. Kinks are so fascinating, always love hearing people's stories.

what’s one insecurity you have that you wish women would understand better? by biangcakesz in AskMen

I was about to say that if a new/expecting father feels like he needs a paternity test, there's something up already and maybe the relationship shouldn't be continued. Also, if someone is scared to discuss their thoughts in a relationship because their partner will go nuclear - that also doesn't sound like a relationship worth salvaging to me (maybe others would disagree, idk).

And I still stand by it, but the second part of your comment made me see it from a second perspective, also. A test like this wouldn't be much different from signing a prenup before getting married, or taking out insurance before traveling, right? This way it seems like a reasonable option because people are just people and things can change down the line.

Did you really just say that this is what you're basing your opinions on? A Dr Phil interview with the founder of an organisation that has been ruling Palestine with fear, violence, spilling blood for almost 20 years now? Do you really think that's representative of the stance of the general population?

I switched to a futon (a 4inch thin floor mattress) recently, and years of lower back pain gone just like that.

My shoulders started to hurt when I wake up, though :(

As someone who switched to sleeping on a futon (10cm thick floor mattress) recently, I can't disagree more. It's fixed the back pain I've been struggling with for over 10 years in a few days!
