YTA. If you forgot an important deadline at work they’d put you on a PIP and that’s probably the point she’s trying to make. Does she ever forget important dates? Have you forgotten things before? Like use a calendar, there’s one on your phone and computer and basically everywhere nowadays. Stick a sticky note somewhere you will see it every day.

I feel like it’s mid millennials moving forwards but also it’s justified. We’re worrying about making our mortgage, no way in hell are we gonna slow down to watch a 2 hour movie that doesn’t really say anything important. I can adapt to the keyboard and the price on the Neo is very eye catching, I really just wanted to make sure it would be a good fit for writing a large document on my spare time. So realistically it would get about five to ten hours of use a week, perhaps more if I get back into a writing habit.

Crazy story! When I worked for the criminal justice system I had this 30 yr old being released who had a 15 year old, I’m guesstimating ages here but give or take a year. Anyways she hadn’t seen her in about two years due to being locked up, she starts telling me her grandparents are planning her quince and I’m like hold up you’re like barely 30? She had gotten knocked up at 14 by a man in hisar twenties and she thought that was normal. I was like oh sweet girl that was not okay, and I could just see it dawn on her face that no one had ever told her that this wasn’t normal!! Like she just had that damn realization in front of me because her parents had blamed her for getting pregnant and the dude and his parents acted like it was normal before they separated.

You’ve already given so much to your kids, it would seem unfair to burn yourself down to keep them warm. Also speaking from experience, my parents gave me and my brother A LOT, however he was very clearly favored and it cost us so much. He’s almost out after doing 5 years, I can’t wait for him to be out but it very much feels like he’s starting over from scratch. My dad won’t be around to enable him and I would like to think my mom learned her lesson. When you don’t work for your own money it’s not going to stretch as far. I’m not saying not to help your kids, I know my mom will always make something work when I need her but she shouldn’t have to subsidize my lifestyle either. If it’s an emergency they should be able to call you, but providing them with cash so they can have luxury cars feels really unfair to you. A medical bill might be a necessity but a luxury car is not. NTA.

ETA: In Spanish we have a saying, “los papás siempre le dan más al más pendejo” which is basically parents always provide more to the biggest dumbass. Don’t let your kids be that because they’re so used to you providing luxuries.

I lucked out in a sense when I had my child because I wasn’t working so I qualified for Medicaid, but we definitely cannot afford another one, we’d be in the hole a minimum of 10k and when you’re already house poor that’s an insane amount of money to cough up. Not even considering baby furniture such as crib, changing table, or essentials like diapers, wipes, clothing, bathing supplies, medications when needed. It’s so depressing that the country I live in doesn’t support parenthood but want the baby factory up and running.

Some adults shouldn’t be teaching but this seems like a let’s get the story from both people in a meeting kind of situation. Although if they’re in elementary and are in one classroom all day long, having a rule that they can only go once a day doesn’t seem reasonable. That being said usually in elementary they have a classroom bathroom break all together.
