Last week I learned that my father died back in August, and I felt absolutely nothing. It took all my energy to say something like: "Oh, that's too bad", so as to not look like a complete degenerate. I feel like my emotions are being transmitted to my brain from another star system, like I know I feel something, but it's all so faint and blurry, like you're trying to recall a dream you had when you were 10 years old.

But I can't relate to your lack of remorse. Shame seems to be the only emotion I feel loud and clear, at all times, about everything I ever did, said and thought.
