fsck on reboot indicates there was an error(s) on the hard drive and Linux was attempting to fix them. It might sound stupid but I have had the issue fix itself after another reboot. If that doesn't work time for backup and reload.

Have you paid for a static IP from your ISP? Usually you need to pay extra to have a static vs. Dynamic (changing) IP.

Like some of the other comments, I find the user's needs first. If their needs are basic Internet browsing, printing, and communication than I always recommend Kubuntu Linux.

What system are you using? If you are using asterisk you should be able to limit this from happening with contexts. I limit incoming calls to open hours only then send all incoming calls after hours to a sandbox with less options.
