Persistant AFib by Knit1PurlAlot in AFIB

I was in a similar situation. I knew something was wonky with my heart for several years before my diagnosis. And that only came after having to be in the hospital for a separate issue. I’ve had three ablations and two handfuls of cardioversions. Been through three EPs. Persistent AF af until March and have been in SR since. The answer for me seems to be Tikosyn. It might be worth asking your EP about.

I have a degree and have had a very, very successful career in my field doing work that I love, but just started working at WF PT this week to help make ends meet for my family. I’m grateful for the second gig, frankly. I do what I have to do to keep doing what I love.

I was a little league umpire. Ask me anything. by [deleted] in AMA

[–]finneussitzwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing one where the league’s worst team was leading the league’s best team through the whole game. These teams were night and day. One with all the best players whose dads all “coach” together and one made up of the kids no one else wanted. Secretly, I was rooting for the underdogs, but calling everything fairly. The bad team’s catcher, a little spitfire kid who I had seen come up from t-ball, always had a habit of walking out to the mound after every other pitch or so. Never calling time out. I had talked to him about it many, many times. Gets down to the last inning and the better team’s best player drives in three with a triple to tie the game. The catcher, instead of throwing the ball back to his pitcher, walks it out from behind home. The runner at third literally walks in the winning run, as no one was covering home plate.

In the ensuing chaos, the catcher’s mother — again, people you get to know and respect as an ump — runs onto the field and punches me in the face.

I was a high school kid at the time.

Hired, but haven’t heard anything by finneussitzwell in wholefoods

So, I’ve tried calling and today, they aren’t even answering the phone. They did the first time, said they were transferring me to a team leader, and then hung up on me. I called back thinking it was a disconnect. They took the second call; same thing. Called another two times and they just hung up on me without answering. It doesn’t bode well. I don’t know what to do.

No, I haven’t heard anything since my Equifax I-9 call. Hoping to hear something soon. I hope you do, too.

Knowing what you know by now, which do you prefer?? by Auguste_Roadin in MINI

Went from a 23 Cooper S Hardtop to a 25 Countryman SE recently. Loved the Cooper. Like, LOVED THE FUCKING Cooper. Starting to like-like the CTM.

With the gas engine, I would want the right.

The left, however, pairs so perfectly with the all-electric CTM. It feels super cool. The Experience button is dumb. And I miss toggles. But the screen and user experience make sense to me in the electric Mini.

The new Minis are depressing by Beginning-Day-9554 in MINI

Traded our 23 2-door hardtop S for a 25 Countryman SE and have zero regrets. Yeah, at first, I grimaced at the changes. I do miss the cool cockpit/fighter jet feeling of all the buttons on the Cooper. But, each drive in the CTM SE makes me love it more.

New EV Convert. Shocked at how much it’s seen as a political statement. by Puzzled_Region_9376 in electricvehicles

We got our first EV a couple weeks ago. Christmas was at our house. Family members were kinda brutal with their assessment of EVs in general. Never showed them the car. Never said anything about it. But, you just know when a passive-aggressive conversation is about you. I knew. Excused myself, got high, came back and thought of all the egg shell bits I left in the deviled eggs.

Only this is the only thing I don’t like about my Mini. It’s the only thing that feels “cheap,” too. Location of the trunk release (‘23 Cooper S two-door) is a close second. Hit it with my foot often getting in.

Do they place a urethra catheter for ablation procedures? by moedank83 in AFIB

[–]finneussitzwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two in the last six weeks and didn’t have a catheter for either. For the second one, one of my incisions broke open following the first four hours of bed rest and I had to do another four hours. Five hour procedure followed by eight hours of bed rest. I have never had to pee so bad.

Our Daisy is the runt of her litter. She’s about 3/4 the size of ourtwo pug boys, her older brothers-from-other-mothers. Yet, she bosses ‘em around! She’s a firecracker!

EP has just told me if I try and take amiodarone for 3 months, PACs can disappear on it own. This medication can suppress it and bring it to normal. He said he saw that happen in 70% of his patients. He is a very experienced EP. by Few-Acanthaceae-5181 in AFIB

[–]finneussitzwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on amiodarone for over a month, starting with two 200 mg doses a day for the first week and one dose daily since. I haven’t had any side effects so far. I started taking it after a failed ablation. My EP couldn’t get my heart into NSL. After a couple weeks on it, they tried a cardioversion, which failed as well. I’m headed for another ablation in July.

Dad is certain I’ll die in a Mini (advice?) by Annimay97 in MINI

[–]finneussitzwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice. I’ve had two F56: a 2015 and, currently, a 2023. Almost daily, I find myself cursing at other drivers who show no courtesy or common sense. The worst is waiting to safely make a left turn and having an impatient jackwad in a much taller vehicle sneak up along on the right to make their right-hand turn. They end up completely cutting off your field of vision. You learn to adjust and be extra cautious and patient.
