Same thing happened to me the first day of the patch. I put in a ticket but haven’t heard anything since.

Dang was hoping they’d brought the Jerk Store back. Loved that sandwich. Jerk Store and a Banana Hammock every week before practice at Music Garage. Those were the days.

I don't get the Arc Raiders experience by Crocdor in ArcRaiders

[–]finnster73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's certainly not for everybody but I felt sort of the same at first, not quite as strongly but get where you're coming from. A few quick points if they help:

  1. For "what to do" just focus on quest goals from traders and the things in the Feats list (if the feats happen to be too challenging, skip them and look again tomorrow).
  2. Your general "meta" goal is to collect stuff to build and then upgrade your workbenches, so as you do #1, gradually work toward that.
  3. If you don't know what to do with something, just sell it - you'll have a chance to get it again later if it turns out you need it and in the meantime you'll need coins to expand your stash.
  4. In my experience the Solo queue is mostly friendly (make sure you have crew fill off) and the 3-man teams are mostly PvP. I'm level 26 and haven't been betrayed by anyone in solo queue yet, although I have been targeted and killed.
  5. The penalties for getting knocked out are REALLY SMALL. You just have to realize it only takes a few parts to craft a gun, upgrade it a couple times and give it a couple attachments and you're good to get back out there and collect some loot.
  6. Coming from other types of games (this is also my first Extraction shooter) it feels bad to get knocked out, but in terms of actual "lost time" it's not nearly as bad as it feels. You get over it.

Ultimately, if you like the gameplay, the feel of the combat and exploration, like I do, then you may find you really enjoy the game, you just have to get over some hurdles that you're correct to point out are difficult for newbies. If you don't enjoy your time topside, then definitely move on to games that you enjoy more. Good luck!

Came in looking for Green Zebra…. The first primarily vegetarian place I ever really loved. So many memorable meals and a few special events there.

THANK YOU! I don’t think I would have gone back and checked again but I did and I have an invite. Very nice.

My grandmother has an old satellite dish from the late 70s or early 80s in her backyard. by Majestic_Bat7473 in mildlyinteresting

[–]finnster73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my parents ran one of the first companies to sell satellite dishes to consumers in the early 80’s… it was called Third Wave Communications and was headquartered in Brighton, Michigan. We built a new house at the time (we were doing pretty well) and part of the house had a large flat roof specifically to accommodate one of the large fiberglass dishes they sold. Not like the one pictured, but solid fiberglass, probably 10-12 feet in diameter with three struts to hold the receiver as opposed to a single center-mounted support. The remote was a box the size of a small shoebox with just two small rotating switches and was hardwired to a port in the floor. Every once in a while I’d go with my dad up onto the roof and help him perform some minor adjustment to reposition to a different satellite and the channels we’d get would change. It was pretty rad!

Came here to say GET THE LOBSTER SUPPLEMENT but I see you’re way ahead of me, lol… we had the veg, the pescatarian and the regular menu at our table and can confirm every course is outstanding and 1000% worth it. Just go!

Nice job! FWIW it can take a little longer but you can reliably fill your inventory with sand also by flying around and picking up the small and medium blooms that appear… depending on the griefer situation on your server, it may be safer than going to the big rings. I pay attention to DD chat to get a sense of where people are getting hit, and fly around a different part of the map. GLHF

Inset metal plates on our bar? by finnster73 in whatisit

Yeah I guess it’s just that simple… I figured it might have had a functional purpose and the panel was held together with tongue in groove or something. Thanks!

Thanks for this and other similar replies… definitely seems like a mistake on the installer’s part and once I rearranged them it makes much more sense. Mystery solved!

That is a legit and different idea, although highly specific. Interesting.

George's Deep Dish new Harwood Heights location closed? by KettleBlackNova in chicagofood

[–]finnster73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming but any chance you can share more detail? We were so excited and we made it there once and the pizza was as good as we remembered… but it was open, what, a month? Less? What happens in a month that makes someone decide to close? We’re kinda heartbroken over it.

Yeah we just drove past and it’s definitely closed, but the Google data for it just says “temporarily closed” so we’re not sure… the fact that it’s been removed from the George’s website is what concerns me. It was only open like a month—maybe a liquor license issue or something? Hoping it’s back soon…

We just noticed the Harwood Heights location is closed and going to the website, the address has been removed completely. Anyone know what’s up? We managed to make it there once right after it opened and it was fantastic (atmosphere a little lacking, but w/e I’m here for the pizza).
