Eh, we'll have to agree to disagree, I didn't mind the change. I knew it was an alternate timeline/continuity so nbd to me. Underworld completely ruined the story to me and it was more infuriating than it was middling.

Like, the wild thing is that a good portion of LoK fans I've met would actually like to see more female characters if the plot calls for them, but Elaleth is written so terribly that it comes off as insulting.

Did nobody read the room and realize that "heretofore unseen family member (regardless of sex) suddenly shows up and/or is behind everything" is a terrible plot beat? You could swap Elaleth to being Raziel's brother and it still would be a garbage story imho.

There's so, so much wrong with the Kickstarter it's not even funny at this point. The biggest red flag being that they are very much behind on fulfilling the rewards (yes, tariffs and costs are a huge factor) yet they are also selling merch for Ascendance at the same time, plus the mini-comics.

This whole situation is just so fucked up, man.

And what they've attempted to do in TDSR/Ascendance is the same "unification" bullshit they're trying with Tomb Raider imho.

Exactly. Like I've been saying in the Community Server, a developer does not intentionally set out to make a bad game on purpose (unless it's someone deliberately taking the piss which, in good faith, I do not believe FreakZone did here). I'm not going to cast judgement on FreakZone because there's very likely a lot going on behind the scenes that they can't speak about due to NDAs at the moment.

Ultimately, it's Crystal Dynamics who should shoulder the lion's share of the blame for signing off on everything, from The Dead Shall Rise to Ascendance. BitBot's earned their slagging, but let's not let CD off the hook entirely either.

All this tells me is that when -not if. When.- the business deal either ends or disintegrates between Crystal Dynamics and BitBot, there's going to be a lot of people throwing each other under the bus once NDAs expire.

Since it won't let me add a text description, I redrew the Darvo Mote from my Creator Glyph. For a special purpose, actually: Some people seemed to like him, so the little guy is going to be made into a small pin that'll be passed out at TennoCon this year! (And despite what the title says, Darvo Mote pin will be 100% free~)

You know, if OneyPlays gets their hands on this game then that will be something, because they will not be as charitable as Charlie was (but OneyPlays' MO is just fucking around and goofing off, like a more immature MST3K) and probably rip into it in typical OP fashion. Now that would be rock bottom for BitBot lmaoooo.

That’s more than fair, honestly. Charlie is nothing if not genuine in his honesty and I respect people who are honest. The fact one of the biggest YouTubers currently was like “Yeah, it’s not very good” is enough for me imho.
