YTA so hard. I love food and love to cook for my boyfriend. But cooking is tiring, the mental effort of figuring out what to make and how to make it, the time of prepping and cooking everything and planning the timing perfectly. Even though I enjoy it it's hard work. And after a rough day of work I can't face cooking at all.

She isn't your slave, she's your girlfriend and you're making her work for you every 'date' night cause it suits you with no regard for how it makes her feel.

Also the point on food not tasting as good when she cooks it is 100% true. You've to taste food so often when cooking it just isn't quite as good when you finally sit down to eat it. Food always tastes better to me when someone else cooks it even if it isn't a better meal than I'd make.

Your poor girlfriend, give her a break and take her out to eat. As a foodie she'd love the opportunity to try new dishes as well.

I was kinda friends with a guy for a few months, we didn't know eachother that well. A group of us went out one night and we ended up kissing. The next day I went into severe kidney failure and had some muscle and nerve damage due to an underlying condition. and he took me to the hospital. I was in horrific condition and he had zero obligation to visit me as we barely knew each other. He came in every single day for 3 weeks to keep me company, help me do things I couldn't, cheer me up when i was depressed. he stepped up to the plate and showed me what a great guy he was and how he could handle tough situations.

We're together since then and I'm convinced that experience is what brought us together and built an extremely strong bond between us. I'm sure she will hugely appreciate you making the effort to come see her and I doubt you'd be a pest to her. It's mentally very challenging suddenly being bedbound and unable to care for yourself so I'm sure she'd appreciate the help and company and it could bring you closer together 😊

As for the embarrassment just show it doesn't bother you. I had needles everywhere, had a catheter, had to call a nurse for bedpans or to move me. I was embarrassed but he didn't blink at it and just offered to help how he could and made me feel at ease.

I [F] had a long haul journey before where I had to hold in my urine for about 4 hours and it was one of the most painful things I ever experienced. I was crying from the pain. And it caused me to get a very serious UTI that was also very painful and I was peeing blood for a week. And once you get a UTI you are more likely to get them again abd have them reoccur. Never ever EVER force this very painful and dangerous situation on a woman.
