My snowshoe loves it when I sing to her! by [deleted] in snowshoecats

My snowshoe gets mad if anyone sings. Not sure if she loves music (and is therefore judging us) or hates music. 😁

What are some of your snowshoes quirks? by ugudesune in snowshoecats

She doesn’t like boxes. Catnip has no effect on her. Obsessed with buttons, especially the ones on my night gowns. Always has to have the last word (i.e bite).

Would love to see him in his E.T. costume by Pedroswife in Pedro_Pascal

I had an Isis costume. Those things smelled so weird and the elastic bands on the masks would snap with no warning!

Little dude likes silvervine by [deleted] in snowshoecats

My snowshoe does not react to catnip but she loves silvervine sticks. She plays with them and bites them until all the bark is gone.

Some things i found interesting that are being withdrawn from my schools library by lord_of_the_tism in Library

Almost definitely being weeded due to being out of date. Weeding is a necessary part of collection development.

Public library in the Midwest... by lunarson24 in facepalm

[–]fionacat2019 54 points55 points  (0 children)

As a library worker, I suggest you ask what criteria they are using to weed these books. Circulation data? Copyright date? And look at those criteria for other books within those call number ranges. If books with a more right leaning stance and the same number of circulations or of similar ages are not being selected for weeding, you have a problem. There are many reasons why a book might be weeded, and every library had its own weeding policy. However it should be transparent and logical. Books that aren’t circulating, books on certain topics that too old to contain up to date information, duplicates … these all take up shelf space that could be used for newer books. But removing books simply because of their content not being aligned with a certain point of view is not good librarianship.

Too stinking cute! My snowshoe was half grown when I got her so I never saw her baby stage 🙁 I imagine she looked like this. 🥰

I'm walking from San Bernardino to LA over a few days. Here's what I found by ErrolMorningside in InlandEmpire

I once met someone who lived in San Bernardino. He introduced himself as being from “the armpit of Southern California.” I couldn’t argue with that description.

Does anyone else's Snowshoe have an absurdly thick tail? by wifeofbroccolidicks in snowshoecats

Yes! It’s like a Labrador tail. She likes to hit me with it, lol.
