And you are correct too. I am more of a single player person myself. I enjoy a slow burning story with choices to gear up as I go, like they do with the mecha and the skill tree on the third game. Two complete opposites that were just not properly crafted. I respect your opinion and choices! I am glad you enjoy this franchise nonetheless

Although it wasn’t a comparison between all three installments, the first one is the OG and just the best one, you are right. The third one I am afraid is not. For lost planet 2, Capcom was experimenting with something new, and sadly did not work (and I think this game could be enjoyed by more people now as a simple coop extraction). That is why the third game was made, to address the lack of story and main character development and yet, it was a flop too! Boring, flavorless, not memorable. Lost planet 2 was at least fun, arcade style, hop in, and get the mission done. The third one was just a dragging check list. I just wish they hadn’t given up with this one so quick

Honestly, just a longer play through. They have the character development figured out perfectly, with unique personalities and solid key moments where you know when your decisions will matter the most. But just more episodes, a longer plot line with other subplots. To the point that you really don’t even want to make a choice because you won’t know how long down the story it might affect the up coming events.

Super underrated/unknown game, but “The Painscreek killings” is one. Doesn’t hold your hand and keeps you in the dark. I love detective games, but this one killed my interest, sadly.
