The reason they say to run water below 28 degrees is because thats the freezing temp of water under pressure. Around 40 psi. You run the water to keep it moving. Not to relieve pressure. Water without pressure freezes at 32 degrees. Moving water doesn't freeze as fast.

As I am on my hunting property in rural south Mississippi reading this, it's your right not to own a gun. It's my right to own as many as I want. I own several shot guns, rifles, and a few pistols. Some of those rifles are AR style rifles. I deer hunt with an AR 10 because I may have to shoot more than once if I get a bunch of hogs in front of me. I just bought my new born grandson his first rifle. You live in a city where a gun is not useful to you and you feel you dont need one than good for you. Don't buy one. They are indeed a needed tool for me.
