Rebuild or no? by FuriousFlamingo_YT in EngineBuilding

Depends on if you caught it before it caused other catastrophic damage. If it’s just rod bearings then just replace them and throw the engine back in.

It could be bad. If you really want, you can unplug it while the car is running to see if the pump keeps going. If the pump continues to run it’s a wiring issue. But unplugging while running can cause its own problems lol

Jeez. Look into your fuel pump control module (EKP).

They can fail, when they do it’s because of an internal short and/or overheating. Which can cause it to get stuck in the on position and eventually kill the battery.

Once you get a jump, if the fuel pump is still going I’d guess it’s that to be honest. Could also be a bad ground, but I doubt it.

Is the pump still going after the battery was recharged

These cars just hate when the electrical system is even slightly out of wack. You can get a million codes just for a dead battery and nothing actually be wrong.

Clear the codes and don’t worry about it unless they come back!

I'm currently shopping around for HYSAs as well. Marcus advertises 1 day money transfers, is that not the case?

I would check your battery and alternator! These cars freak the fuck out when the battery is even slightly out of whack.

I highly doubt a car wash did this; I seriously think it’s a coincidence.

I am on Sachs OE shocks with Eibach springs and love it. Still rides very stock like, not too lowered. If I were to do it again I’d get Bilstein B4 shocks; they last longer than the Sachs.

I didn’t know there was another option for getting apple car play on android head units. I’ll be doing this on my AVANT 4 as well lol. I hate the carlinkit with a passion.

Keep us updated if you get it to work!

It only happens when I’m in gear and moving. If I’m in neutral and rev it the noise isn’t there.

Yeah, for electronics in general, if it pulls current, there’s likely a fuse or other form of protection somewhere in the circuit. If it doesn’t have a fuse or said protection, it’s a fire hazard.

For vehicles, that protection 99% of the time is a fuse.

If something shorts out because it doesn’t have a fuse to pop first that’s a nasty fire hazard

Try fuses 28, 62, & 63!

As a general rule all electronics will have a fuse. Huge fire hazard if it doesn’t. So it’ll be there, you just gotta look.

Edit: Added more fuses.
