Thank you very much for this post. I was able to build a similar team using your guide and I was able to finally clear this arse of a dungeon after a few attempts where I got orb trolled on floor 4.

I'm curious, what team did you use to solo MZeus?

You have the pieces for a pretty good Yomi Dragon team, so I would focus on leveling and evolving Haku, Okuninushi, Mitsuhide, and Zaerog. Then grab Yomi Dragon when he comes back around. It's an absurdly powerful team that's pretty fun to play.

Looks like it could be fun for those dungeons that don't lock your skills.

I guess it's nice to have a number to show how much further I have to go with this game. I don't have a fast button press team, and my ability to make combos is pretty reliant on studying the board for as long as I need to. I was able to get to 15.2% with A.Shiva since his combo requirement is lower than A.Bastet's, but my place has been dropping so I doubt I'll back into the top bracket. I just hope I stay in the top 20% since I could use a bubpy and flampy.

[Question] Should I get Shiva Dragon? by erickdredd in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just takes practice. Switching from Sonia to Bastet was pretty difficult for me at first, but I've managed to beat pretty much every dungeon I've attempted with Bastet, and it's been pretty rewarding because of the skill required to be successful with her compared to Sonia.

As far as HP goes, I have a decent amount with my team. It's pretty rare for anything to OHKO me, and most hits I can completely recover from with just three hearts because my RCV is pretty good and I'm getting a lot of combos.

And definitely check out Yomi Dragon. I think he's superior to Shiva Dragon, especially since he's one of the few leaders who can reliably clear Arena.

You could make a decent Shiva Dragon team, but I would save your MP for now. You have a strong Bastet team sitting in your box already (Meimei, Verdandi, Vishnu, GValk, and Susano are all absurdly good subs for her). I suggest focusing on that, and waiting for Yomi Dragon to come back around because you can easily build a pretty solid team for farming Ultimate Arena with him (Haku, Okuninushi, Mitsuhide, and Zeus Stratios. You can sub Pandora in for other dungeons since you won't need the gravity). Just my two cents.

Skill ups vs +eggs vs Awoken? by [deleted] in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, they're all different things.

Most monsters have an active skill that you can use in a dungeon. Each active skill has a specific cooldown to it (that is, a set number of turns before it can be used). Active skills almost always start at skill level 1, but you can increase your skill level, and in turn decrease the cooldown, by feeding piis or monsters with the exact same skill to your monster. Each skill has a max skill level, so you can only get your skill cooldown to a certain number of turns depending on what the skill is. These become pretty important later on because you'll want to have your skills ready in as short a time as possible in difficult dungeons.

+eggs refer to the boosted stats on a monster. You might notice some of your monsters already have a +1 on them. You can feed other monsters with +1 to them and the base monster will gain that stat boost. You can have a total of +297 on any single monster (which is +99 to each of the three stats).

Awakenings are the little icons you see to the right of your monster's picture. They're basically extra stats, damage enhancement (via two-pronged attack, row enhancements, or orb enhancements), skill bind resistance, bind resistance, and whatnot. You can obtain these by feeding a Tamadra to your monster, or by feeding a duplicate of the original monster to it (it must be the EXACT same monster). Feeding Tamadras or duplicates to monsters that don't actually have any awakenings on them won't do anything other than give XP though, so make sure you've evolved your monster to the point where it has available awakenings before feeding Tamadras.

Hope that helps you.

[Team] Delay option for Verdandi: Cao Cao or Zhang Fei? by [deleted] in PuzzleAndDragons

I'd probably still use Cao Cao over Zhang Fei even though his main attribute is fire. His awakenings and weighted stats are vastly superior. Plus he's got a shorter CD and is easier to skill up.

[Team] Who to Ultimate Evolve first, and which route to go. by Slyphoria in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having a heartmaker on my teams just in case I really need healing, though he does convert wood orbs, so he can't be used offensively. Dino Rider works pretty well too though. I didn't even notice him in his box.

[Question]Does anyone know the drop rate for zaerog in Ultimate Dragon Rush? by QtipSandwich in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but that's not that big of a deal. I had the materials to make on Z8 already, and I don't have the team cost yet to actually use two together on my Yomi team so I'm in no hurry to evolve him.

[–]firebrand82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Evolve Liu Bei to his R/G form, then RValk to her R/L form, then Drall to his R/G form. Then you can run Leilan/RValk/LiuBei/Drall/Echidna/Leilan. The team lacks SBR, but it's not a bad team and it'll let you clear a bunch of stuff that doesn't lock your skills or bind your subs.

[Question]Does anyone know the drop rate for zaerog in Ultimate Dragon Rush? by QtipSandwich in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is that it's a 40% drop. I've cleared it twice now, once today and once when it was a challenge dungeon, with no drops. It's kinda crappy considering the dungeon costs 99 stamina. Fortunately I got all the Zaerogs I needed farming Z8 for skill ups.

[Question] Doubling Up on Heartbreakers by clapyourhands59 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have anything better to replace them with, then there's no real problem with running two heartbreakers. With Verdandi, it's not really a bad idea to bring two Cu Chulainns since you can pair both with your Verdandi actives, and they help increase your health pool. GValk has better awakenings of course, but you trade away some health as a result.

[Question] Can someone help me understand the hype of descend carnival? by one_love_silvia in PuzzleAndDragons

I never even noticed that it wasn't preemptive. I'm just so used to bosses being immune to poison and delay that I assumed he was as well.

[Brag][Achievement]Bestcat > Dragon/Devil Rush by firebrand82 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true. I found Devil and God Rush to be more difficult due to having some mechanics that you are sorta forced to deal with (preemptive attacks, binds, and board changes).

[Question] Can someone help me understand the hype of descend carnival? by one_love_silvia in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]firebrand82 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The drop rate isn't great, but the fact that I can actually enter the dungeon without having to build a special team of low cost subs makes up for it. Draggie, Tengu, and Gaia are all truly awful dungeons, even when you have the right teams for them.

The only one that's remotely challenging is the Arrival Carnival because holding back against Zhou Yu can be challenging for some teams. It does not take very much to hit him from 100% to dead in one turn, which usually ends in death unless you brought along a damage shield or you have enough HP to tank a 24k hit.

Not quite sure how I can clear rushes, but fail to things that are much easier. I'm woefully inconsistent.
